The key was in time, he freaked out and left.
Leavers should be punished, I agree wholeheartedly. In the current framework of how LFG works it’s very hard to think of a way to make it work though. I myself advocate for a solo queue system, but that would require a complete overhaul of M+.
Yes emergencies happen, yes very rarely your group is so bad that completing the key will be an impossible or arduous process, but this doesn’t compare to the myriad of times the leaver was the person who couldn’t stop dying or was failing all the mechanics. I say this again and again in these threads, the leavers are NEVER the good players, from my experience the leavers are always the failers without exception. Either failers or people with an extremely fragile ego that get into arguments with people. I’ve legit in my nearly 8 years of playing M+ not encountered a good player that left my key.
But the thing is :
I dont encounter leavers. Maybe 1 every 20 runs or something.
Absolutely not in the amounts to make it a concern. And well within the range of plausible innocence “DC, RL emergency… ect…”
So my question is : Are people confusing “punctual events of frustration” with a “systemic problem”?
I think yes. People are confusing it.
Also :
I advocate for no solo queue system. With or without M+ overhaul.
Nope.
Plus. That wont address leavers. Leavers will just cheat the system just like they do in PvP : Just stand there and do nothing. Wait for the thing to end.
played some +2 keys this week on my dps and even didnt time it.
i was on the brink of leaving several times.
between healers that die the first second into a boss and dps that do 50k dps in ilvl 500+ gear and people not even finding the dungeon i just gave up on trying to gear my alt.
not even worth it to try
Yet u are here every time, and act like a: “I know it all wow professor”.
Who is forcing u to write in a topicu dont like, 10.000.000th time?
All u do is judge people and talk from a high horse. Giving advice, and “solutions” wich worked for u. It wont work for others.
Does anybody pay u for this, or its too much free time? This is how u try to prove urself that ur opinion matters, and u like to imagine u solve problems so u re important?
U solve nothing, and nobody ask u to come and reply to a topic that annoys u soooo much.
Care to debate the issue and not me? Naw, we both know thats beyond you.
blablablabla blaaaaablaaaa! I know it better. I can talk from a high horse. Im important. yeeey.
Only if people failing gets punished.
In my experience, no.
Take my last AV attempted.
Consuming stomp is coming.
2 people in the group can’t survive the stomp without pressing defensives.
They don’t press defensives and instantly die.
“wtf healer?”
No, bro. Why are you not pressing defensives. Don’t try to blame me for it.
Then we go back and they die to stomp again. I leave, because they straight up refuse to press what they need to do to survive. There’s no way we time this key if they don’t press their defensives.
Why should they not be punished?
Take another key I tried to do, algethar academy on my retri:
Tank pulls everything in the tree boss area.
I wait 5 seconds for him to get aggro when everything is in melee with him.
I start DPSing, I hit 2 million dps and then I pulled aggro and died.
Tank then dies.
They wipe.
I’m just sitting there “…”
We go again, tank floors instantly.
We wipe again.
We go again, I pull aggro despite giving him a good 5 seconds headstart on getting aggro and thus die again.
Then the tank dies again.
I leave. You can’t play like that as a tank and expect people to stay, you just can’t.
It happens enough for me to be worried when a person dies a few times, and the frequency doesn’t really matter. The keyholder gets punished unfairly, leaving is toxic behaviour. As it stands I could join keys all day and leave the moment they start, without any punishment. This isn’t good for the game and it sours the m+ experience.
Nobody does that.
That is the point.
Think about what behavior like that implies : An individual who’s only purpose is to troll and make people’s gameplay miserable.
im sure someone out there behaves like that. But 99.99999% of people join a key with the purpose of completing it.
Maybe they have different expectations on how to complete it. But everyone wants to.
therefore… leavers are just disagreements in expectations… nothing else…
And people that consistently find leavers in their keys is because their expectations are often in conflict with others. And in that case, one should review their own expectations.
But most of us are flexible. We don’t find leavers very often…
And that is why leaving not toxic… sometimes a divorce is better and healthier than to stay married… saves everyone time. Including the keyholder…
No, that would get you banned, lol.
Why not? It couldn’t possibly be because you’re not willing to put in the effort to put solutions into practice.
Do you know what’s toxic?
I just tried to do an academy and the healer was just suiciding into stuff due to not knowing how to play.
On first boss, he would’ve died if not for me being a paladin - he wasn’t clearing the bleed. So I bopped him.
He dies to the bird boss due to not pressing defensives.
Then he dies to wind blow after I res him.
On the way to vexamus he aggros mobs, I turn back to pick up the mobs that aggrod on him but HE’S RUNNING AWAY FROM ME INSTEAD OF TOWARDS ME. So he dies, again.
Then on vexamus he dies to mana bomb. I res him and he dies to standing in fissure. We wipe.
We come back and he dies to… Fissure. We wipe again. A DPS leaves.
Bro has no business being in keys.
It really isnt hard to tank. Seems most people are incompetent at dpsing, interrupting or moving out of stuff. First big mob in rlp i usually leave when people die to the aoe it puts down. No excuse really.
Hm i think we should have a test there adds things like there’s crusial to know in m+ like yestoday the tank in m+5 ruby had no idea how to move away from the ball of death on the 2/3 boss despite us telling him. I think we died around 39 times because of him not listening to us.
