M+ Pugging Experience as a Warrior is abysmal

idk finished every +9 in the game yet cant get a single invite to a +10 after 150 applies.

Good that nothing changed and you still do everything in wow but play xd

Thing is, M+ is genuinely fun but with this rate theres no point playing this game over just playing anything else.

I mean you literally sit longer queues than you play the dungeon. Thats quite insane

This is the main reason , why give players the power ? The power to not let someone who deserves to play a key by non invite them cuz not meta ? Is like arena if you have a premade then you are ready to go , if you want a pug system , your party should be autofilled queue with people who deserves to be there , respect 1 melee dps 1 ranged dps 1 random dps , 1 heal and a tank … Hate the meta only elitist is a videogame , play for fun .

Yes will take time , but you will get in eventually , now is a play of dice 1 hour declines and spam relist apply… Not fun

You have a tier 4 key the system will find you a tier 4 dungeon and people with the same key power if u time ++you will have a tier 7 key access solo q and so on

Or you guys preffer to spam relist and applys for 5 hours a day and do 3 runs …

Solo q M+ is the awser , you will queue and the system will find you a party looking for a t10 random dungeon … You will not get declined , if players quit they will lose 2 lvl key who stays till the end and time it will get lvl 11 access , if you dont time it but stay till the end you lose 0 try again , the need of gear score will scale more up you queue more you will need .

And yes you can choose the final chest reward if you want a trinket of a specific dungeon , the final chest of the aleatory run will be decided before you queue up , just finish the run and have luck .

Is logical , you cant spam only 1 dungeon (not fun do 20 timmes same dung for a item), but u can target the final chest reward of the same dungeon doing all dungeons randomly .

i dont even care about the rewards i just wanna play the game but applying 300x for 1 invite where the tank sh*ts all over the floor and wipes us 20x before the first boss is just absolutely horrendous ngl

The warrior pugging experience is fine in m+ from my experience (currently 2568 rating). If you only want to play as DPS, of course it will be hard to find a group. I would rather play DPS myself, but I quickly realized that people prefer inviting players that tank, take responsibility, leadership, adapt to the group, create routes for their keys etc., so I am doing that. If you don’t want to do all the mentioned things and just want to play one thing, DPS, that’s completely fine and up to you, but don’t expect people to invite you to their keys then.

True but imma also add this on top. My dps warrior lfg experience is 3 hours waiting time at 626 ilvl and my frost dk experience at 610 is around 1 hour max when applying to similar keys. This is just depressing at this point and best part is frost dk is a 1 button macro spec. Forgot to say they are doing really similar overalls

Edit : Also gonna add this , its also really depressing when you apply for a dps slot and you see a frost dk getting taken for 50th time in a row

yeah but thats not really a solution is it.

“just play tank” i mean u found the solution to every single game that struggles with queue times alone yet its not really a fix either, soloque is what fixed it for most games. It is what it is. But telling people to play tank or not play at all is just weird

As I said, the warrior pugging experience is fine in m+ from my experience. This doesn’t come down to “just play tank”, it comes down to playing and doing what is desired by other people to get invited to their keys, including taking lead, taking responsibilities, adapt to the group, create routes and yes, tank if needed. If you want to be successful as a warrior player in m+, you have to adapt and broaden your horizon. If you don’t want to do that and just want to play DPS, you have to then also accept that people rather invite players that are willing to do the aforementioned things.

Yeah but that won’t really fix anything. Im well aware that its logical that you get slower into groups as a dps but saying “just play tank” in every game where this problem persists, where the vast majority of the playerbase maybe just doesnt enjoy tank, is not it.

Ill have no hard feelings and just quit at some point if im too bored sitting LFG all day but its overall still sad to see that this is something most people struggle with and probably alot of people will quit over, realistically.

Still don’t see a reason why soloque/duo-whatever que wouldn’t be the best idea for people who just wanna spam the bracket. It’s the future in any game anyway and even in PvP it will be or already is (not sure about the numbers but 3s should definitely not be more popular, MAYBE if we count 2s ontop of it but thats it) what most people play, for a reason.

It’s fine for you because you tank? I’m confused by your post. If you can’t see why that’s not really helpful to dps warriors I don’t know what to say.

A lot of words about adapting, how about blizzard fix their balancing system so people can play a DPS spec, and have a decently equal value compared to all other DPS specs. Right now that’s not the case for many reasons stated above.

I’m plodding a long nicely, I make do every single season. I apply, apply and apply some more and I make sure I do my best. It would categorically improve my pugging warrior experience if we had of equal damage to the current op specs, or even if we didn’t to have one of the main big benefits of many other classes like a CR or Lust (fits better for obvious reasons).

The topic is M+ Pugging Experience as a Warrior is abysmal, from my experience the warrior pugging experience is fine as long as you are willing to go the extra mile. If the topic would be M+ Pugging Experience as a DPS Warrior is abysmal, I would agree, but it’s not. If you consider all the specs and decide to play the least one needed for m+ just because it’s most fun for you, do not expect other players to invite you to their keys.

At the same time you realize that the vast majority enjoys DPS warrior more. So it is an issue regardless however i think its more of a DPS issue in general but warrior got not much going for them right now in terms of utility. Sure shockwave is nice and ur dmg isn’t bad but you’re not standing out.

That will work until Prot receive no buffs and other tanks get better. Then you’ll face the same problem, but changing spec won’t be a solution anymore.

Mythic was revamped to handle multiple CRs in the team, but this is still a limited skill among classes.

A lot of people mention Bloodlust as a plus for Warrior, I tend to wish that all classes receive such addon (lust & CR), it would even the playing field and lets be honest it wouldn’t break the lore, beast mastery having a BL does not make sense whatsoever.

Or they could add a Mythic + talent node choice, same as pvp with dedicated talents only for M+. It would allow to move some from certain classes (mage mass invisibility for example) and add new ones for the classes missing it. One slot would be fine I guess, it means you need to choose following the group you get in, and would avoid having groups waiting ages for a BL/ CR class.

M+ Talents only for m+ is not a bad idea

lets say warrior , rogue , retribution pal , priest heal and dh tank …

M+ talents will pop up only in case nobody in party has bloodlust or combat ress

I think it’s bad idea, good idea is properly balance classes and give us DMG we deserve

Well, as you can see right now this is not something we can expect…

Some high end players find a way to maximize everything and Blizzard is only seeing numbers and using the ban hammer. At the end of the day, we won’t have any damages left, or will be barely on par with others and we still won’t have any utilities in M+.

I don’t blame any PUG group to not take a warrior when you want to give yourself the best chances to complete your key. We are pure damage dealer, that has to stick to melee and therefore more liable to survive, on top of that we bring nothing except an AP buff and a weak rallying cry.

While all the other melee classes have usually a better melee range, brings CRs or utilities that can help your group (mass cloak, Ring of peace, dispell from the top of my head but there is more).

We cannot stick to damage only anymore, because Blizzard is trying to balance around the RWF on live servers…

This is closer to the truth than most theories. Blizzard got access to the ‘real deal’ logs, the ones hidden by the powerusers themselves. Where the true minmax is being done. As we talking raid balance, this really hurts all other aspects of the game.

If we never had those sets of Raid related nerfs, Fury in m+ would actually be top tier damage dealer. The niche of AoE burst is actually quite strong in M+, as long your overall AoE doesnt suffer too much because of it. We did in fact get punished for our AoE burst. Raid design tax keeps slapping us, making it still encounter spesific great - but overall for content like M+ we are hurting more and more. So now we kind of just ‘mid’, we are ‘fine’ in m+, we just aint exceptional. Thus, the case of “what do you bring” and our answer is “nothing, compared to the other guys”. Hey, that is what the other guys want - so guess it is the happy ending, eh?

If they revert the nerfs, we are basically perfectly balanced for the content. We will be the strong-end DPS that brings little to no specialised utility.

A pipedream that the dev team will turn on their heel and backtrack, fixing the issues their raid balancing have created for m+ Fury. But hey, it is a dream none the less :dracthyr_uwu:

Just play a tank for M+. Sorry that this is the answer, but every class needs balance between M+, Raid, Arena, BG, Delves, etc. At some point a talent tree can only account for so much content

Definitely a dream unfortunately…

They are oblivious right now of what is happening outside of raid content, and for a 20 years old game that have M+ for a bit less than 8 years it is concerning…

I mentioned it already somewhere else, the RWF guilds needs their own servers where the tuning can be done to ensure it will be an interesting fight. The plebs (us) do not deserve to be sniped like this for the 0.0001%, that would already be a step in the right path.

It would also give them more opportunities to tinker some encounters to push the difficulty even further if they feel it is needed.
