M+ Pugging Experience as a Warrior is abysmal

This isn’t true. even without the nerfs, we would be mid tier in terms of damage in high m+. Not sure where those numbers came.

Based on my experience and the data (screenshots, discussions and logs) shown by some of the more top tier players on Skyhold (litteral top 20 Fury Warrior players). Not to mention my own experience in keys. I am as mentioned at their heels. Ret does 1.6kk, I do 1.5kk. This experience is often what is seen and highlighted, by even the influencer types.

The nerfs we had have been quite impactful for our profile, and in M+ profile matters. Especially in certain dungeons. Fury in Necrotic Wake, thanks to how bosses spawns adds that you want to AoE nuke makes our damage profile very valuable. That aside, the few % overall lost on average, these nerfs being reverted would push us close to equal if not above the ones we are at the heels at. I don’t want to see Fury Warrior skyrocket into the atmosphere. I simply want Fury Warrior to be the pick to bring when you want ‘best damage, but nothing else’.

I find it to be fair that Warrior does more overall damage than, say, Retribution in a key; simply because Retribution is also an utility bot with hybridhealing opportunities. And yes, I feel the opportunity to bring cleanse, immunity and more should have a cost.

Now do note: As Fury’s overall DPS, in my world, would be impacted by the more bursty profile - this wouldn’t make other profiles less wanted or needed. To keep on theme; I want a world where you bring Fury Warrior for not only the overall damage, but to have high AoE burst potential to create pulls around. Then you also bring the Retribution to just have that much lower AoE burst to add on, but also better pure sustained AoE DPS and utility. In this perfect world, and we are not that far off - the nerf reverts would get us there; would see what we already got balance and function wise, but with fury doing just that little bit more damage.

I am really happy with how Fury Slayer feels and plays. This is why I don’t ask for Fury ST buffs, I simply ask for the AoE burst nerfs to be reverted. Because I just want more of this goodstuff. I wan’t Odyn’s Fury and Bladestorm to pump… and no, not “but we already are, this is raid balanced!” kind, I want big actual pump damage that carries it weight in M+ too. I don’t care about the raid. If they design fights to where Fury shines, then that is encounter design issues in my mind - not class or spec.

So, this is why I ask for these changes and what numbers and experiences I base it on.

This is why I honestly believe that another AoE burst nerf will simply kill Fury Slayer (YES I KNOW WE WILL BE FINE IN THE RAID, I KNOW AND I DONT CARE). “Forcing” us to go Mountain Thane for M+ to have decent overall performance is not the world I want to live in. I enjoy big AoE burst. It is the most fun I had with Fury in years.

I don’t want to see it killed off in the name of “raid balance”.

If i remember correctly, this was like that until Cataclysm. Nowadays, they have utilities and wants the dps with it. Therefore, since nobody wants to have things removed from them, let’s request utilities as well.

I understand the point you are making and see where you want us to be, but to be honest the full dps profile is outdated now and that needs to change for us in order to avoid the situation of being left on the side line because we were nerfed and people get the wrong understanding.

timed all at 11’s

Welp, I’m at that lovely timed all 11’s trying to get into a single 12 breakpoint and it just once again shows how abysmal it is not having those significant additions that help you stand out a tiny bit as a warrior. This is the exact moment per season, when at these breakpoints the small details make the biggest difference. 1 ilvl score, 10 ilvl points (pushing you over the hundred mark) and having certain utility get you those few invites you need to get that timed 12 to move up.

This is an issue throughout every season, when pugging, 9 intos 10’s was the same this season but not as bad. This breakpoint is brutal at the moment, half of my friendlist are people that have timed all 11’s but cant get into 12’s. I know there are a TON of people applying for those keys but I once again say, if I had lust, if we had better damage than alternative classes that have those benefits while it would still take time, it would still be a grind, it would most definitely improve my acceptance rate. Put us all on an even playing field and then I’ve no issue grinding out the applications.

It is what it is, I accepted it a long time ago because I love warrior, and I mostly enjoy the pugging experience, but with all those seasons, multiple expansions I just refuse to accept anyone telling me it wouldn’t help if we were balanced appropriately. If it improved my acceptance rate by 5% that would be huge. If I see a group has no lust and only a single spot left I simply have to ignore it, how f’ed is that? that’s a lot of groups I see that I can’t even apply for, for example.

It’s pushing me to want to have a break from the game, and how is that good design / good balance? I shouldn’t be forced to ‘find a team’ etc. because blizzard can’t be assed giving Warrior a genuine benefit to a group, a genuine reason to standout from FDK (who still haven’t had nerfs btw lul), Shaman etc.
