Install PTR WotLK Classic first, then the rest as they share data.
Had disk and app management permissions on (not sure if relevant)
I guess it is fixed. Installed bnet and wow (dragonflight) today on a fresh macbook air m1. No issues whatsoever.
I am still unable to install, been trying different things since last week.
I cannot believe I had to spend an entire hour just to get the download started… I think adding my user to the folder permissions and giving full access fixed the issue, not sure.

What did the trick for me was to select the “World of Warcraft” folder on my M1 and apply read & write to that folder + (important!) “Apply to enclosed items”.
Then I started to install WOTLK classic and suddenly everything worked.

I am not able to create a new thread anywhere but since 10.2.5 my M1 Mac gets a memory leak and crashes my mac within 15 seconds. I have all addons disabled. Game is unplayable.
What a wild ride, but exactly this worked for me after doing it three times on my MacBook Pro M1 Late 2020.
