Mac issues - CRASHING, LAGGING AND STUTTERING AFTER 8.3

In my opinion it is not even the dev’s fault. I do believe this 8.3. Patch was pushed by management knowingly - for the PTR bugs clearly where known - and not solved. So if anyone is to blame, it’s the management.

I for one would not like to be in the seat of CS or DEV’s at this point as the sh*tstorm only gets bigger and its their job to keep the calm and provide us feedback & solutions for the mes that was caused with this patch.

It’s the C-level positions that need to stand up and make some statements about compensation and apologies to their paying customers!

Questing is usually okay but anytime I do a world boss, raid, even a dungeon it just freezes sometimes is comes back but most of the time I have to shut down my Mac and start again… incredibly frustrating!

Errr… Battle Net client did an update an hour or so ago now the Battle Net client causes the Mac to crash as well???
Didn’t had the game open only the client for my friends chats and it completely froze my Mac…

A week in and I still haven’t even been able to complete the Retaking the Forge scenario due to crashes at Stage 7. I’m on version 8.3.0.33095 and would agree with everyone else saying it’s even worse than before.

Symptomps: Freezes alot and crashes during dungeons (even low lvl dungeons not just mythic+ runs). After the new patch it even restarts the computer in outworld questing when engage with two or more mobs casting fire spells. - my lvl 52 Vulpera now stuck inside a fortress in Descolace because the computer restarts when two or three mobs start attacking as they do when I log in after a restart.

Did cancel my subscription, wrote the new patch and a lot of crashes/ game freeze as the reason in the text field in the survey.

The problem is now worse, now once the freezing starts it wont stop so I have to manually restart my mac. Dungeons are impossible even with graphics set to 1, any crowds or heavy lighting causes non stop freezing. This has continued for so long now that I wished I had never returned to the game and bought this expansion and the next one. Why should I be paying for game time when I cannot play the game as intended? If this was a retail shop on the high street I would demand my money back!

I wasn’t going to reply as I hoped you had your eyes on the ball with the patch this week, but the problem was just made worse, so it seems you are not testing this on MacBook Pro at all. Several of my friends have the same issue and we can’t play the game at this stage.

Before this patch (22/1/2020) the screen would freeze for 10-15 sec and that would happen every 5 sec to 30 min. Every now and then it would cause my laptop to crash/reboot. After the patch the screen freezes last between 30 sec and 10 min (yes I waited and it began running normally after those 10min). Some of the times the laptop would crash. When the screen is frozen I can still talk and listen on discord that is running in the back.

My system:
MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports)
2,9 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5
16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3
Intel Iris Graphics 550 1536 MB
SSD harddesk.

Just tried out the new update. Joined a random classic dungeon and got three 5-10 second freezes on the first boss… Someone on the US-thread suggested playing the game in windowed mode, didn’t work for me.

4 tickets with 4 different issues, guess what, the only thing they are saying is they cant do sh*t.

I tried staying polite, tried to help, offered help and input, yet Blizzard clearly doesn’t give jack-sh*t about their customers…

At this point steam is vaping from my ears as a reflection of how mad i am with the replies i get.
The bug is confirmed, the proof is there, yet nothing is done on all my 4 tickets?

And you dare to call yourselves customer support.

!!! Potential temporary fix !!!

i have adjusted a few settings and have been able to do dungeons and raids for the past few hours with only minor game pauses for about two seconds.

make the game client window mode.
lower graphics to lowest (setting 1).
disable the in game sound.

please let me know how you guys are getting on if you have tried this out, may be able to make the game more playable until blizzard can make a permanent fix, and we get 1 month refund or free pre paid.
