Mac issues - CRASHING, LAGGING AND STUTTERING AFTER 8.3

There’s an excellent case for delaying the release of the raid until this is patched, but that’ll never happen.

Is there any sort of workaround or do we have to wait for blizzard to fix it ? considering asking for a refund for shadowlands if they dont sort this out soon

US forum posts indicating that there’s no fix in place.

Not fixed for the US, blizzard are a bunch of incompetent.
We are just giving free money to blizzard. we are their b*tch.
They don’t care of us, we are inderectly paying some devs who just laugh of our problems.

We… i don’t know what to say one week.
ONE F*CKING WEEK AND THEY CAN’T SOLVE A PROBLEM.
One of these ********* should be here H24 to answer question. To inform about the evolution.
The only reason they are not here is cause they don’t care at all of us

I was waiting for a response from the US side as they hade their maintenance today. So a fix is not in place? Ok Im about to give this up now…

Going to cancel my sub and refund shadowlands if this isn’t fixed asap

It hasn’t been fixed, they are all just saying that the only solution is to download Windows 10 unto your Mac…

Dear Mr. Robert A. Kotick (CEO Activision Blizzard)

Thank you for leading this once so great WOW game & team since the 90’s and it prospered under your guidance. In 2008 things changed and greed came into the equation.

Thank you for now it seems you only caring about your own millions. Thank you for lying to your stakeholders about buying shares back, only to fill your pockets by selling a day in advance 180million in shares and never buying any shares back at all, I can be mistaken but think that is not entirely legal.

Clearly policies that are now implemented have nothing to do with caring for your paying customer base. I feel sorry for the staff working in Blizzard these days as I am pretty certain this patch was forced to launch preliminary knowing the issues and unmistakably knowing what issues it would cause.

So I salute you Bobby for making about $30 million in compensation. The video game industry is larger than ever, but you are criticized for your annual salary which was 306 times more than the average Activision Blizzard employee. You should be ashamed yet I fear you are not.

You should be ashamed for many things these days but especially for the many 1000’s of paying customers who are not heard.

You had the biggest quarterly raise in the history of WoW with the WoW classic game, yet you fail to acknowledge this to your staff and incredible loyal customer base.

Normally I would not write such words, but over the last 5 years the decline in support has become so evident, the cuts in the company are clearly leaving a mark, but then again, it’s all about shareholders value…

You know Bobby, granting gametime or ingame gold doesn’t cost you one penny. But if you as a CEO would simply issue a compensation to all these customers, for a change , it would happen - it’s that simple. Your call, i can only hope or leave WoW altogether. Already got my refund for Shadowlands, at least that is done.

Disappointed, very very disappointed

Impossible ((( I’m lose 1 week((

Looks to me like a freaking memory leak that should be easy to fix if you can figure out where is coming from…

Start: 2.58Gb memory, first freeze 3.08Gb memory (no more the 30min), another 10 min or so 3.12GB…

Lets hope that is the fix we have been waiting for!

Not fixed.

Made it through a heroic run with no issues after the 100mb patch. I’ll have to try some epic battlegrounds or something with more going on tomorrow.

2017 MacBook Air with Catalina installed for reference.

Well maybe some luck it seems it’s worthe.
happy if it works for you
In fact i’m happy of what’s hapening.
Finally they tried something ! And if it’s worth they’ll have to solve the problem faster !
Btw it could be cool if we could have some news here.

Seems they posted a hotfix: https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/crashing-freezing-and-stuttering-after-83/411134/699?u=hasmar-2680

However I can also confirm (as others on the US forum) that the hotfix made things worse. It actually makes my macbook crash EVERY time now, whereas before it wasn’t always the case.

Yep, the patch has made the game even more unstable. I’m having to reboot during the Maelstron HOA scenario, multiple freezes/beachballs. I haven’t tried any other content yet because frankly what’s the point?

This is amateurish, Blizzard. My system specs are in an earlier post if anyone really wants to know. Please try harder with your QA?

I just logged in on the 8.3.0.33095 version and can confirm that this is not a fix as of now. Concurring with people from the US forum and above that it actually made it worse. Not sure if it had to do with me being in a dungeon or not but as soon as I was kicked from the group it went back to “normal”
So far I have failed 2 visions aka 2 ranks on my cloak, as well as ruined 2 mythic+ keys (which in total also affected 9 others due to, in both cases, cpu panic and laptop shut down).
Kind of annoying and kind of sucks.

MacOS Catalina
Version 10.15.2
MacBookPro (13-inch, 2018)
Processor 2.3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5
Memory 8 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3
Graphics Intel Iris Plus Graphics 655 1536 MB

Edit. managed to play through a dungeon in windowed mode (not fullscreen windowed) at 872x546 resolution with NO issues what so ever.
So if that information might help anyone… At least I managed to get a +10 done

Absolutely NOTHING was fixed with that 105MB patch - same crap, even bigger memory leaks. At least no forced GPU restart now, but the memory leaks are so great that you HAVE TO manually restart to get any control of the computer.
Completely frustrated now. Any idea how can we sue those loosers?

I just logged in to check if something has been fixed but it’s even worse.
That’s ridiculous, I canceled my subscription and installed ESO.
Farewell
