I’ts interesting how Blizzard handle a crisis situation like this and the lack of communication to the players during the process. The handling of this unexpected situation it’s a proof of a bad organized company(lack of internal responsible and routines). It will have a big impact on their trademark and lost of income by a simple misstake. Will be a big lesson to learn and trust to rebuild to the players.

The issue must be in the IOS, as that is the only difference wehn I’m using windows.
They don’t care. Why:
1.) Because they could set some people behind different macs and have them game and crash and analyse. For sure they get enough data.
2.) Because they refuse to offer any kind of compensation knowing they made a mess of the 8.3 patch as it was pushed out too early with so many bugs. Hiding between technical details as if it was too much to share, lmao please share them as i am pretty sure there are a lot of techies and/or developers actually playing this game.
3.) Asking us again where it happens and under what circumstances whereas we have done so from the start with many specifi details.
They are simply stalling it hiding behind their EULA. Greedy bastards with no intention to offer any kind of compensation whatsoever, time to put the press into action.
Thanks for this twofold:
1.) I can actually see some of the new content in action without crashing
2.) Hopefully Blizzard will see this too and offer some kind of compensation
With the latest response received from Blizzard, it hurts me to say that I am done with them. Not the game, nor its community or with the people which I shared a virtual world. Over a decade of resetting my brain with WoW after a days’ hard work, some of them actually became friends irl.
So since I am utterly disappointed in the company behind this game who we have seen sliding into an utter greed-machine no longer caring for their customer base and ditching us with lame answers leaves me no choice.
I feel sorry for the people in Blizzard who would like to see things differently, this is not to them as I understand you want to keep your jobs as well.
It is to the people in Blizzard that are responsible for policy, that knowingly make choices that hurts the future of so many employees. By your actions people are cancelling their subs, and in doing so jeopardizing security for people within your company. I can not understand why you actively hurt the Blizzard brand, but its your choice clearly.
Today I cancelled my remaining months WoW subscription and unless they will come with some kind of compensation, I deem it very unlikely I will start using any Blizzard game in the future.
I salute all of you and thank you for the support and input given. For your sake I hope they will fix their mess soon.

As the latest blue response over at the US forum wants additional info is a bit weird in my opinion. As we have endlessly explained what/when the crashes and freezes occurs. But okay, I as all others want this fixed, so Im answering the mini survey:
-Where were you in game when the crash happened?: Zone / area doesn’t matter, basically any area or zone whenever its more than +2 players, group quests, 5man instances / raids. Also 8.3 content / quest lines. World bosses.
-What were you doing when the crash happened?: Tried to progress Lego Cloak, completing a M+ / LFR, heavy AoEing, any form of group content, regular world quests.
-What error message did you get (if any)?: To see mine specifically, see top of this thread.
-What character/class you were playing when it happened?: Doesn’t matter which char Im on. It happens on all of them. Mage/Warrior/Pala/Druid.
-Was there any other notable behavior before the lockup occurred or anything you want to add?: No, the lockup occur, you get beachball spinning wheel and either u get 25+ sec freeze OR the Mac shuts down and restarts itself.
Experiencing the same issues :
Macbook pro 13 (2018) with Catalina.
Recurrent freezes since Wow 8.3.
Happens mostly in an instance.
Happens sometimes in open world
Happens always when playing with other people around.
The whole computer freezes and I get the rainbow cursor.
Sometimes, everything comes back after 1-2 minutes
Sometimes, the computer shuts down after 1-2 minutes
Windowed mode does not change the issue
The frozen snapshot always displays some AoE/fire/fancy visual effects, which I suspect to be the cause.
It makes me very sad, and I hope that a fix will be found soon, as it seems that I am not the only one experiencing this.
You can issue a ticket for sure. But before you do, scroll through this topic alone to see real answers posted.
Spare yourself the time and frustration as asking for anything will lead to the ultimate same answer, they will do jack sh*t…

I’m a newly returning player who has been playing classic wow with no issues. I played Legion and BFA at launch with no problems. I decided to give BFA another shot and my Macbook Pro completely freezes now and then and I get the spinning rainbow balloon. I see I’m not the only one with this problem. WoW is currently unplayable.
The game has crashed many times, but here are just a few of them.

I’m so happy I found this topic, since 8.3 I’ve been crying about my mac dying or anything but it seems like we are all in the same sh*t.
I’m mainly a rated battle ground player and this new season is full of goals for me and my team. Or atleast was… Cuz I can’t play the game anymore without freezing==> rainbow wheel ==> either fine for idk how much time/pc auto restart/ me having to restart pc. It’s unreal hope they fix it soon I even rebooted my mac thinking it was the issue, lost many pictures songs etc… Blizzard MOVE YOUR *** please.

I’m playing with 1/10 graphic settings and everything at the lowest possible my res scale is 33% (max is 200%)… So ye C B A
EDIT 2:
I’ve lots of my bnet friends who plays on actual windows 10 pc with full “gamers” features and they also have some small freezes aswell of a 2/3sec. It happened to me playing on a computer at school they are shorter and I had to restart game only once in maybe 8h total played.
Sat tonight for a good while debating whether to partition my Mac and install Windows but we shouldn’t even need to be doing this! Logged in 20 mins ago to a completely dead Razor Hill, got the wheel and next thing my computer had shut down. So frustrating!
