Mage Professions

Hi, I just started a mage on season of mastery, my first classic character. I’m a bit confused about what professions I should learn. I’ve looked up that I’ll definitely need tailoring for the robe of the archmage, but I’m not sure:

a) If I should pick it up right now, or if I should just go some gathering profession until 60 for more gold
b) What secondary profession + do I pick it up now or after 60
c) if I should invest my gold into professions while leveling (especially as my first character) or do I save it for some other things? (mount etc.)

You should do whatever you enjoy the most yourself. It is a game after all. If that means leveling tailoring while leveling, that is what you should do. If it means having mining and herbalism while leveling to give you an epic mount a day earlier than you otherwise would have, you should do that. If “outplaying” other players in pvp by using engineering gadgets is your thing, you should do that.
