Oh my apologies indeed I took the guy who intervened the most for the Op…
No probs. I just posted and sat back not expecting this much activity. I was wrong.
‘‘BrINg BacKK PvP titles, moUnTS and glad GEaerr too then?!?!’’
yeah why not, get the required ratings for it current season, play it and buy it with tokens (like you do with pvp mounts) why not? people still got achievements from back in the day to flex.
is a good solution to it
You’re saying without that type of time limited rewards, you would be tempted to play more “lazily” i.e. the game itself is not enough to make you feel excited…
You say it here… Shouldn’t the game itself be able to sustain you and make you feel excited rather than throw time limited events and rewards at you to make you play?
We saw it in M+ this season… Delves got introduced and the player base shifted their attention to that game mode, because now you weren’t forced to do content you don’t like for gear.
But they aren’t though? There were so many complaints about Plunderstorm to give an example… A lot of people would just que, fly in, get 400 doploons and go into storm, this ruined the experience for both the player base that enjoyed it, and those who felt forced because of the time limit…
The reason these limited time rewards exist, is because Blizzard knows it will drive engagement… Do you think it’s coincidental that these events get introduced towards the end of a season?
And do you think it’s coincidental that a big chunk of the player base drop off once they got their KSM or 1950CR in pvp?
They drive engagement. They work, that’s why they exist.
Trying to imply, that Blizzard time limits for excitement and for gameplay purposes is just naive
I personally do not think they will.
The last time they tried to bring a recolor back to MoP challenge mode sets were legion (class hall sets), and there was such a big uproar from the community that they had to modify the belt and the shoulders to look different compared to the original to make them calm down.
I think only recolor versions should be added back to the mage tower.
Oh sorry,is it any different from cm and mt?
Crawl back from where you came
Nice having a conversation with you as well, this says alot.
this says alot, why mad when u get taste of your own medicine
Just get me more recolors, as they did with our might of the Grizzlemaw form. Personally I’d like it to be more customisable, that “fel” theme is just not part of the Druid class fantasy. You’ll keep your prestige, I’ll have my forms, everyone’s happy.
thats the only thing that you had to comment on, and took out from it? not even trying to see another solution?
Who said I’m mad?
ay relax deep breaths and move on.
how about coming with a solution instead of always see a problem? Typical fomo lovers
You kow what, I was mistaken and read your first comment totally wrong - yes you actually did. I’m sorry
can we be friends now ;D
Would love to
You made your point clear across 30 posts we get it you play for the “prestige”…
but he does not tho, since he still farms old raids for transmog and getting earlier unobtainable items
That is correct. That is what I said.
No, not at all. If the game wasn’t exciting I wouldnt play at all.
However having an incentive makes the journey to the goal more exciting.
Look at Delves for example. I find them uninspiring and dull. Zekvir and that kind of boss fight is not what I find interesting. Although the time limited mount skin is tempting, it is not enough to make me want to participate in such dull content (my own opinion ofcourse).
That’s not what I said at all.
I said that going back and overpowering old content is boring. Nothing to do with the game in its current.
I like M+, I don’t like Delves. I didn’t play Delves I played M+.
If you felt forced to do anything that you don’t enjoy then you only have yourself to blame.
Cosmetics like these are designed to be trophies for participation, not welfare benefit handouts.
If you don’t enjoy playing that content play something else the game has to offer (or even another game).
At last you see the purpose for them. If they didn’t exist there wouldn’t be any players playing the game.
As I said before, if players could wait until the last patch of the expansion and collect everything in one go, they would. That would
Mean that 18months an expansion cycle the game would have no players.
Instead we have a fun game to play and a reason to keep playing it. That’s a good thing.
So you’re basically saying what I said… Instead of making the content actually great, they try to throw time limited rewards at the players to create engagement… i.e.
No… Not really… You’re literally saying if they didn’t time gate it, it would affect your CURRENT gameplay as you would WAIT to become overpowered which is what you find boring… So again, what seems to excite you is not the game, but that they tie a time limited carrot at the end of a stick for you to run after…
Okay, let me be clear… “A big chunk of the player base” sorry thought you wouldn’t take it so literal
Weeeell there is a whole psychology behind it, which you can also read about if you want to broaden your horizon. There is a reason Blizzard has behavioural psychologists hired.
And how is:
The same as time gating it? Are you not “participating” if you do the Mage Tower today? So unless you did Mage Tower V2 the season it came out, it has now become “benefit handout” ?
Because I don’t see how that has relevance to time gating
So a game can not exists without time limited rewards?
My dude… You’re literally telling me, that the game can not sustain itself and therefor has to artificially keep players engaged? xD Just like I said?..
Don’t really see how it’s a “fun” game. But again, we seem to agree on my first comment at you finally
Not at all.
You’re saying the content is bad. I’m not.
If content is bad, I just don’t play it, like in my example Delves.
Incentivising people to play the game, is not the same as saying the content is bad.
They’re not the same two statements.
Although I see where you are coming from, I think you are incorrect in your speculation of my gaming habits.
I have a life, I do other stuff. I enjoy playing WoW, so when I have a reason to play WoW to get a collectable, then great! I have a reason to get involved in something I enjoy doing.
Ofcourse, they have implemented a new style of game play that some people enjoy more than other ways to play. that’s great! But that doesn’t really support any of the points you have made.
And if you fall victim to that kind of addiction, I would suggest looking for help.
As I said before, I enjoy WoW, but I have a life and concentrate on other things. So when there is something around to tempt me to play, I look forward to enjoy it.
Those of us with self control shouldn’t have to lose out on something fun because someone else can’t have self control. They didn’t ban alcohol because a few people got addicted. What they did is offer help to those with the addiction.
Different challenge I guess.
Besides these were advertised as disappearing before BFA Pre-patch. You had to buy Both Legion and BFA to get access to them back then. You couldn’t buy BFA and get legion aswell, you needed to pay twice.
Returning those items would be false advertisement, as they made money from advertising that they would be gone forever.
Not what I said.
A business needs to promote itself to survive. This is a business promoting itself to help stand out against its competition.
If it’s not fun, why do you play it?
I don’t agree with your overall view of the topic. I’m happy to say that I can see where you are coming from with your arguments. I just don’t think the time limited rewards are the problem. I’m a player who likes them, and would like to see more of them. It works for how I enjoy the game.
