I don’t know if I’m in the 10% sub rogue, I really don’t think so, but I’ve managed to beat it.
I must encourage you to give it a fair try, and be resilient. And maybe as you try it, some nerfs will come along the way
I do appreciate the encouragement
Maybe one of the under-discussed things about MT is that not everyone enjoys solo content, especially when it’s “repeat it til you beat it” rather than a grind that you can watch youtube with. I’m happy to bounce off the same mythic raid boss for weeks on end, or go try to turn a +17 into a +18 (it has occasionally happened), but that’s because I enjoy the social game. I like having the group banter going on voice.
So as much as the fear of getting invested and still failing, there’s simply that I don’t really want to do 10-30 hours of that
But I would like a werebear. And I’m pretty salty that the only way to get it is behind this wall of stuff I don’t like. It could have been this season’s KSM reward, and I’d have chased that down with determination. It could have been from defeating heroic Sylvanas, and I’d have gone for it, even though it’s an alt and barely geared. It could have been from getting 2700 rating in PvP - I wouldn’t have done that, but some people would have loved it. But instead it’s from solitary content in a multiplayer game.
Sadge.
I’d like the old gear scaling cheese issues to be fixed, they could even do something like disabling sockets tbh. At the cost of nerfing the fights a little, of course. The stat stacking isn’t really something that can be changed, but as far as I see it, it takes very minimal effort to get full vers gear (and it’s still not necessary, I didn’t do it for any challenge and still completed them). Just something to consider if you’re struggling too much.
The rest of it though, seems like something that these forums have been asking for a long time. I’ve seen many posts that come down to wanting something challenging that:
- Doesn’t require a group
- Can’t be boosted
Well, there you go. Mage tower fulfills both criteria. Personally I’ve had fun with it. Makes me learn specs I haven’t played in years again.
Oh it can, and IS getting boosted. Boostsellers are advertizing piloted carries for the net price of 730’ish EUR for a full 7/7 - or you can also just buy for the bear at a somewhat lower price (still pricy). And they advertize in /trade, in Groupfinder, on web adds… and nobody stops them.
They are busy though, and have around a weeks wait time for their service.
I have reported them SO many times, but nothing happens. I guess they know that too, and otherwise make such profit off it that it’s worth the risk of a ban.
I still cannot get an answer though, to whether they ensure the buyers a refund if they get permabanned , so I guess that’s a no.
You can get boosted at the cost of compromising your account and possibly getting perma banned = only stupid people do it. Don’t be ridiculous.
I know, and I would never do it. I don’t even buy carries for gold.
You did state though that it can’t be boosted, and that is what I reply to… because it can.
And apparantly there’s a lot of stupid players, who can’t live without their felbear or book mount.
It’s a pretty risky play either way because if you get ripped off it’ll be harder for you to get help from Blizzard since you basically tried to account share. I’m not sure how legitimate any of the boosting services are that do this, they’re very sketchy at best. So I wouldn’t personally consider it boostable due to the extremely high risk that the buyer is taking, although obviously it’s technically always possible.
The more likely scenario is that someone gets their friend/family member to do it on their account, I could see that happening. But there’s no way to stop stuff like this really.
Yes, but at the same time; not everyone who likes the appearances wanted that experience, and it is those people who are now annoyed that there are some nice mogs that they feel unable to access.
I mean what this tells me is that Blizz would massively invigorate players by making recolours of these available via regular content (i.e. dungeons, raids and pvp).
I was wiping at 4 - 10% consistently non-stop using just SL gear and nothing else, on the same Druid I had done it on before in Legion.
Swapped to put on just 3 bits of Timewarped gear.
Completed it first try after 78 attempts.
Not really happy but hey ho…
A lot of people expect a gold sink equivalent to the AH mount all in one go. All up in your face without sugar coating it.
You can do this, but you can also include other ways.
The method right here is not just the fees, but also to get consumables and mats to be cycled since… lets face it, SL has made it quite stale. Think of it like multiple birds with one stone.
But you’re right, if you don’t see it in such a blatant extreme way OR if a new method isn’t as effective as the last (I doubt this pulls in a lot of millions), it’s almost like it isn’t happening at all for most people.
Don’t mind me doing the opposite and not playing it because it is even for dedicated players like me annoyingly hard.
No, it’s because gold sink means that gold goes away from players and in the case of consumables, enchants, etc the gold is all going to other players and therefore it cannot be a ‘gold sink’ outside of… repairs, which I’m pretty sure progression raids get more from that with repairs.
I had a set of mostly vers gear just from collecting tanking gear on my druid. It’s basically just slap on gear used for tanking for most.
Why didnt you do it back at legion
There is a druid who finished it without ever going into bearform.
Indeed, using specific gear to prove how busted the stat scaling is; that he can complete it, painfully, as a Moonkin. So very ‘Tank’ focused huh xD?
Cause I didn’t play back then:)
or more like, I didn’t have my own acc back then therefor I never got to try it.
Lawd … I want that red warlock armour so bad. I was so chuffed when I beat Kanrethad Ebonlocke and got green fire back when that fight was relevant; as a solo experience that fight was amazing, difficult but clean, once you had the pattern down then that was it. MT feels nothing like that, it feels just as soul destroying as TC (imo), in that you can get down to 20% and RNG kicks you in the backside, or you have to multi-task about 7 different things at once. I guess it’s my ADHD or lack of skill, I’m just not wired to be able to handle that. Gotta remind myself the mog is just pixels.
The stat scaling is not busted. But gems are
