This is actually a very good point. People complain that there’s nothing suited to their gaming needs and as soon as they get something difficult they look for every possible avenue to make it easier without improving their gameplay.
There was an exploit in the balance druid tower where you could use cyclone to completely negate mechanics - as in they stop showing up completely if you time it correctly. Blizzard has since fixed that but not removed the achievement for those who used it. Lesson here: Exploit early.
They have the “1%” using every single possible exploit and they remove them for the rest of the player base increasing the difficulty even further.
I did mine with no extra sockets or timewalking gear but it wasn’t fun on its own and less so knowing some nolifer trivialised it because Blizzard are too lazy to tune correctly.
I 100% agree so it begs the question, how did people get all 36 within days of it releasing? Cause Blizz hadn’t fixed all the “problem” gear and gamebreaking abilities just yet or cause these people are just so much better at every single spec (including ones they’ve never played before) than everyone else on the planet?
I watched a guy from the worlds best guild on his stream, hed never played a holy priest before, he read through the abilities, set up his binds and macros etc etc and I stopped watching. Next day hed ticked it off as done. People that can do that are likely one in one hundred thousand or so.
Well I am not a top player, so there are surely people who can do this.
But to call MT a fun activity, it should be tuned less harsch. Most people had fun with it in the last patch of Legion.
I did all fights back then multiple times, on my main earlier, on alts later. Some of these just feel wrong now. Abilities have changed, some are gone, others are back, whatever.
Absolutely it is. Some people are amazing at things that make them succeed (I use this term loosely) at WoW, no one is good at wow but that’s not the point.
There have been game-breaking items nerfed as well as encounter mechanics bypassed completely and we want to pretend that these items / strategies have nothing to do with them being as successful as they were as early on as they were? That’s a joke.
Its quite stupid a Paladin with 5 ITEMS equipped can do the Tank Challenge! While a fully geared person cannot, and yes i am aware ppl have done min maxing to do it with crafted gear from MIST OF PANDARIA and enchants from vanilla WoW and what not, that aint the point. One should not need to do all this! Im all for it being hard, i did them in Legion! And dear blizz, dont give us a copy paste of a pre-written message you got laying around!
Elemental and enhancement are fairly easy when you compare to other classes that have the same challenges. Too bad the mog is so ugly it’s not worth it. Had the mog been red like the TBC season 3 pvp instead of that ugly green I’d definitely have done it.
True you can even ignore a mechanic every 1.5m as enhancement if you mess up the timings on your hex and have to deal with 2 things at the same time.
And seriously yeah the set is ugly cuz of the colour so sad to see.
Also really dissapointed that its not what was promised. Its a long dps check instead of just endlessly executing mechanics perfectly with the small dps check once in a while. Also love the bugs in the encounter, makes it even easier.
Look I think I am allowed to be negative about this whole thing. On the one side I have been able to boost my IO score week on week to where I am now at 1800. Yes its not that high compared, but for someone like me that in itself is an achievement.
Now on the other side you have the MT, when you keep pushing to the point where the fun had disappeared and is replaced by anger and frustration, the plot has been lost.
I am 465 pulls in on Kruul and best has been 7% twice. Each time I reach this stage or anything below the 20% mark, it just goes all pear shaped. When you have done something as much as this you become reactive and see some glaring issues.
For instance I have had 100’s of failed attempts due to the Infernal Smash that punts me off the platform when I either stand next to the smash or next to the Infernal. In my last pull I timed the Infernal respawn and went and pulled the Horrors behind him. This Infernal spawns and in the spawn animation does a 180 and yeets me of the platform. I had Kruul at 15% with 2 Annihilates and 2 SI available, dps was rolling in the 850 region at that point.
The point is, as I said, the fun in this has long since been replaced by a sheer determination to get at least something back from all the time and effort that I put into this.
