At the moment I am playing on a classic era realm and en enjoying myself as a returning wow player. My plan was to level trough classic, do some end game stuff and when I was done transfer/clone to a TBC era realm. However I did not realise that clone char would be discontinued and could not use it anyway cause of the char create date limit.
So I requesst you would consider to enable this so people can enjoy the era servers and transfer/clone when they want to the next era realm. To be clear I only mean oneway era transfers so from classic->tbc->Wrath.
This way people can enjoy each expansions as it (kinda) was intended with your char progres.
Then you would lose all your progression and connection with the character.
Personally I can’t see anything wrong with a one-way transfer from Classic Era to WotLK, after all they are doing it with the SoM realms so why not? The only thing I could see is if it’s to the same realm for free or paid to another realm.
You cannot and will never be able to move characters from Era to TBC++, the problem is the cloning: at the time you cloned you also effectively doubled your amount of gold: one gold pile for Era and one for TBC.
If you were allowed to move to TBC/WotLK you would ofcause bring all your gold and items with you - again - gold, which you have already transferred to TBC one time before.
Double gold does not matter much I think because of the different era realms and no normal interaction between them.
And cloning is 1 option, transfers would be good to. I just liked the idea of traversing all the expensions as they where on release at your own speed. And also preserve each era of the game for the future.
Funny. On my - still existing clone - it says: “all progress made on this character in WoW Classic Era since November 29, 2020 will not be present in the clone.”
Yes I also think it is very strange. I can still see it as the clones are STILL not deleted.
I can make a screenie, but I cannot seem to make it appear here.
