Make wow classic HC the right way

Hi,

I went back to classic now and leveling a toon hardcore when I heard about the launch.

What ruined classic for me was mainly

  1. BOTS / Gold sellers. This removed the fun of grinding (big part of classic) and it was simply easier to buy gold.

  2. To easy, everyone who played on windows 95 with 10 fps could get full T2. No skill involved what so ever

  3. Nothing to do at level 60. Raids/dungeons are a real joke and can be done by 5 year old kids.

Classic HC can fix both of those things, but please make sure:

  1. No tradeing, or a system that make sure you cant make the leveling easier by sending stuff from your main.

  2. No botting / buying gold. If this means toons are not beeing able to trade / Use AH then that solution is fine with me. The end result is that noone should be able to get gold the wrong way. Do whatever it takes to make grinding feel worth it again, and striveing for epic mount etc is as fun as it should be.

  3. Make sure that there is some achiv/visual that show how many times / classes has gone 1-60 witout dieing. It would motivate me for example to play other classes than only mage (has been my main for years).

  4. No spammeble dungeons. This will not be hardcore at all if you can camp in dungeons with a group and again play with 10 fps and mouseclick every spell and get to 60.

  5. Rewards for leveling different toons 1-60 over and over that will be displayed on all chars, like a badge.

This should be a real challange, requiring farming mats for professions, farming gold for mounts/skills, going into hard quest zones be ready with healthpots at clutch plays in danger etc etc.

If you can recieve gold / or send powerful stuff from alts / play like a noob and make it 1-60 these HC servers will fail 100% and just be cringe.

Thats my thoughts

First off, if you’re seeking difficulty, you’re playing the wrong version of this game. Second of all, remove world buffs and you will see how much more ‘difficult’ naxx40 and aq40 can be for your average classic player, and not be able to brute force mechanics like the NA guild does.

The average HC player is playing with their elbows and are mechanically challenged, but they do have the patience which makes them get to a higher level.

  1. If you play HC, bots and gold sellers means nothing to you. Can ruin nothing.
  2. blame Blizz for giving us last patch.
  3. if you play for only end-game, Classic Era is not really your game.

Both this things when you have 3. Fun, but I guess it can not help with 3. no endgame

Your other points:

  1. Fine not being able to send TO live HC characters, but let us send from dead ones, maybe to other realm, non HC, what else happen to all stuff and G from dead HC toons?
  2. No trade for not dead players fine - again we need to sent off things once dead.
  3. A leaderboard sounds great!
  4. No dungeons would solve this better. I know I am quite alone in this, but I consider dungeons as help from other player.
  5. Sounds tempting but I really not like account wide things.

I agree HC / No-Death / IronMan … whatever you prefer call challenge … should be real challenge. and any help from own or ohter player feels as a cheat.

even if trading is allowed, I doubt that there will be a lot of bots, because they can be griefed and die at high lvl very easely, same about gold farmers and boosters, profitable ways to earn gold at 60 have a big chance to die, gold sellers will be levelling 150+ hours and die at first 2-3 hours of farm.

This is basically why there wont be much of a gold market on HC.

C’mon now… the game is as hard as you make it. The way you guys see it is so narrow-minded. The actual good thing about wow HC, is that it’s accessible. If you want a more challenging leveling journey, do elite quests, try to level fast, set own rules to make it harder. Use your imagination. Don’t just listen to the herd and their negativity.

Well thats why HC should be ideally paired with some Classic+
