Make WoW Metal again

No they really don’t. They just claim it’s one extreme or the other

It was on the ptr till blizz removed it due to complaints

I remember in 2005 when we had

Now we have

“Helloo blizzcoooon :rainbow: :money_mouth_face:

When something threatens replacing an existing culture instead of developing its own it becomes a Threat.

No exceptions as to the object or how this threat is represented.

There are original places for Kawaii stuff, I just don’t want to see it in a product that was originally - Not - it.

I get it, you’re afraid. I’m sorry for having made fun of you.

Your concerns are definitely valid and we should shun the stuffed duck toy because it threatens the metalness in wow.

snicker

Where is this stuffed duck toy you keep on talking about. I want to go play with it and murder it.

Ruby Life Pools (not the dungeon, the questhub) - There’s a dragon whelp named Lillistrasza giving out a quest to help repair her stuffed toy “Happy Duck”:

that sounds like the most jolliest quest ever… not metal enough for me sadly.

Thanks though <3

p.s. totally gonna go get that duck

I will call him… Murderduck

Toys are not a problem. Since vanilla 2005 you can have the rainbow toy from a felwood quest

Then I shall rename mine to Trvedvck!

Since you do not seen to have talent to express yourself or understand others properly I will go down a notch and explain it in toddler mode:

Imagine that a company launches a game about cute cats and power of the friendship, and the game stays that way for 10 years or so, creating a very loyal fan base.

Slowly that game start to lose its rainbow colors (if you know what I mean) favouring a more darker tone, untill ultimately the cats become ripped, bearded dogs that pick up fights for no reason.

How do you think that player base would feel ?

There you have it.

Oh, I’m sorry, I thought that’s what you already did in the opening post.

Woah, this is a funny post. Did I step back to 2010? XD
It’s true that WoW has in the past gone for the more… boisterous themes.
And I do enjoy that. But I like a lot of the cutesy stuff as well.
It’d be nice if instead of being one or the other, they made sure to please both sides of their fan base.

Have some totally awesome badass characters, but also have some cutesy cuddly stuff.
Shadowlands, though I hated it very much because of the overwhelmingly gloomy overtones. Had a good mix of cute and, ahem… “Metal”. XD
Ardenweald was definitely cutesy. If a bit gloomy at times.
While Maldraxxus was metal… if a bit grizzly.
Bastion is, I dunno, a church choir in a cult and Revendreth is gothy punky stuff. I’m partial to Revendreth myself. Digging through my riches and burning through the glitches on my mechano-hog.

In this case…that makes you in need of two toddler answers, which doesn’t bold well…at all.

You have two types of people in the world:

Those that can easily accept and keep up with change who don’t let it bother them (even if it’s not in a way they’d have liked).

Those that can’t easily accept and keep up with change and let it bother them (to the point everything they disagree with is seen as the enemy).

One of those groups got over the edgy metal stuff 15+ years ago as they aged out of their mid-teens and look on the past fondly but accept it’s gone.

One of those groups are edging closer and closer to being old men yelling at clouds who have constant nostalgia for an age that will never return (nor will they ever be that age again).

Dark themes are great. Edge/metal is not (unless it’s a TV show aimed at teens). Just look at the reaction to Chris “I didn’t know it was happening whilst I was there honest” Metzen flat out saying Illidan will deal with the sword. It’s like a bunch of 14 year old boys seeing their first pair of breast IRL thinking Illidan is a good character beyond “life so hard damn ultimate sacrifice mega edge”.

Edit: I used to post on this character all the time… do server and name changes reset your count?

I think it’s because of a forum revamp.

As for the rest of your topic… I mean like… some people can be into edgy metal for their whole lives, and that’s not a problem. XD
LIke… they’re into what they’re into, right? My tastes may have changed as I got older, but I know people who liked Iron Maiden 40 years ago, and still like it now.

Also important to note, maybe the edgy metal is their change. Maybe they liked the spice girls 30 years ago, but like edgy metal stuff now. =D

Ah makes sense on the revamp stuff. No biggie.

Also, guess I should note, when using metal in the context of this thread I don’t associate it with metal music at all. Metal music is far more than being reduced to “dark and edgy”. I listen to a lot of it and I’ve also been known to sing a Spice Girls song or two if it’s on!

Good attitude to have. =D
I can jam to any music, long as the songs good. Doesn’t matter the genre.

But even dark and edgy personalities and the like. People want to express themselves in a way, that’s fine.
Long as they’re not out being racist or hateful or anything… Then it’s all good. =D

Yeah, I used to listen exclusively to Black Metal back when I was like 17.

These days my old BM albums are littered between Ska, Folk, Pop, Punk, Wave, hell, even Electronica, Hiphop or Techno CDs. I still listen to them sometimes, but I could not take them that serious anymore.

Edgyness is great in my opinion, people just need to get over themselves and stop taking themselves so serious. It’s all about having fun in the end.
