Dark and âheavyâ moments exist, and theyâve probably been more numerous through Dragonflight than through Shadowlands. The issue is that their presentation was from a âfeelingsâ point of view instead of âlook what just happened because of actionsâ:
The burning of Loamm Niffen felt closer to Gargamelle attacking the smurf village or Bowser attacking the Mushroom Kingdom than Shinra dropping a plate on Midgard slums. Something very simple like having Loamm Niffen stay in its destroyed state and with somber music until the end of Dragonflight would have helped, because it would have enforced the impact of its destruction. Instead the almost immediate reversal back to its original state is giving the signal of âLook, we lost half of our population and every building was decimated, but it was nothing, we built it back up and recovered our numbers in 1 dayâ.
Sindragosaâs arch felt more like a story of âFeel how I sufferedâ than âWitness the results of my sufferingâ.
The story in Belâameth with the Night Elfâs sibling that joined the fire dudes felt more like a story of âHow can I cope with this and live on?â than âLook what acting on impulse causes. Learn from it.â.
Sailor moon outfits are not an issue, but giving powers back to the Flights like a Sailor Moon transformation kind of is. They should have tried to copy Power Rangers transformations instead.
Did Ebyssian do anything in the expansion? Did he even transform into his dragon form for anything other than go from one place to another or to take up space at the Seat of Aspects?
Did Sabellian do anything other than squabble with his nephew and get a tour of Aberrus as if heâs visiting a museum?
Did Wrathion do anything other than squabble with his uncle and get a tour of Aberrus because his uncle had two tickets?
Did Senegos do anything other than die?
Did Nozdormu do anything other than say that âhe canât do anything and itâs up to Chromieâ?
(I really had to google who Captain Travard is⌠I thought it was the paladin NPC who tanks in follower dungeons) I am waiting to see what this ragtag group of âheroesâ is going to do. Though for obvious reasons I side with the draenei.
Did Kalecgos do anything other than feel useless (and also act uselessly)?
I played the campaign twice, reading every quest and watching every cutscene both times.
Can you provide me a list of what they did that had catalytic contribution to the evolution of the story? Standing around and discussing the situation as if theyâre in a Teams Meeting does not count as âdoing stuffâ, nor does following the âmain charactersâ and being present at the points the story evolved (like Wrathion and Sabellian in Aberrus). I donât even remember Ebyssian saying/enforcing what their course of action should be, he has been 100% passive.
Tyr contributed more to the story going forward than Ebyssian. Hell, even Vyranoth contributed more to the story, and she was a late addition to the roster (at least the Seat of Aspects can handle their combined weight). And itâs a shame because I really like Ebonhorn ever since he said âNo, I wonât be doing thatâ in Neltharionâs Lair in Legion.
Nah, thatâs far too much work to do for someone who obviously just doesnât want to see it. Youâre gonna make up weird reasons why the things âdonât countâ as you already did.
And, frankly, I donât really care that much about your opinion. Believe what you want.
