Make WoW Metal again

Just that maniacal grin as she stands beside Princess Ansurek makes “evil auntie Xal’atath” the dark and brutal that we need in this game.

If we’re going to head to a defeat that precedes “Midnight” then a world that needs no Inky Black Potion to be dark. The world needs to have more of the old version of Duskwood, where the soldiers began carrying a torch to light it up somewhat…

As the world succumbs to the danger that evil auntie Xal’atath represents we, the players, should find ourselves huddling around campfires in groups because going out alone is foolhardy.

Even flying alone would become foolhardy when evil auntie Xal’atath spirals a cloud of Void through the air that makes Fyrakk look like a baby by comparison. Yeah, if you want brutal, disturbing and dangerous that’s how the world should BECOME as a consequence of Xal’atath’s actions and she does all of it with impunity. Until Midnight, when we’re fighting back and fighting for our futures…

I’d say the cutesy stuff is overly represented just in DF.
Every other expansion’s got lots of gruesome content in it.

  • The story of Vashj’ir in Cata
  • Garrosh in MoP
  • WoD as a whole was pretty metal imo
  • Legion was the same
  • There is Drustvar and Nazmir in BfA, Nya’lotha is metal asf
  • Maldraxxus, Revendreth, The Maw in Shadowlands

Really, the only xpac that doesn’t have any significant metal theme is DF and that is over now.
The storytelling problem I do see is the inability to take it’s dark themes seriously and “lightening it up” with marvel level humor. But that is an industry wide issue, not just a wow issue.

We need a war to make world of WARcraft great again.

Mega servers

No more cross guild
No more phasing
No more cross BGs

A new TOTAL WAR between horde and alliance.

I want to hear the sound of drums, thunder.
I want to see blood and thunder and heads out.

I want to kill humans, slash wolves, throw dwarves, smash gnomes and desintegrate goats

The rebellion of lower dragon folk ?

The experiments on the unborn proto dragons by the titans ?

Burning of Loam?

Experiments in neltharions lab ?

Burning of the dream ?

What defines dark ?

The problem is with the older folk leaving and new people coming. The style of writing changes and modern writers/artists do different stuff than older people also I know this is horrible thing to say but male and female writers do different style writing.
Male writers like to have story told in action, where as females usually tend to make more talking bits. Compare Battle for Azeroth to Dragonflight. Lot of talking and looking at the distance in DF where as in BfA stuff explode and characters act. Its just the way they write. And NO, this does not mean this means EVERYONE

That’s the issue. We don’t see this as the exception, but as a change that will go forward.

It’s not that metal / dark content is completely non-existent; it’s that it has been reduced in prevalence compared to previous expansions. Talking with random numbers, if a previous expansion was 30% metal, Dragonflight was 5% metal.

Not only that, in Dragonflight we are mostly called to rescue and nurse the victims of any such dark occurencies, whereas in previous expansions we either participated in those or just took advantage of it.

Oof I feel like that’s a bit grabbed out of the air until we really compare quests by quest. As over arching story’s kinda stay on the same area of focus on the dark topics being more in the background.

Well that’s on the community , not on the devs.

Remember how people refused to do the quest with helping the orcs r a p e , Alextrasza?

Atleast we still help to break Arthas beloved horse the legs

… I don’t even remember that quest. Was it Horde-only?

But I have participated in killing Horde citizens

I approve this post.

I want “World of Warcraft” not “World of UWUcraft”

Am I missing something from back in the day or are you mixing up ingame quest with passages of the books?

Can’t remember either of these scenarios ingame

Didn’t make it past test server , but you can find them on wowhead or wow forum. People were really not happy to do such dark things

Ah, that’s why.

So there is a big rift between what player want to see / devs want to write.

Df tried to tackle really dark topics , but got denied by the community

Welcome to modern society, where people fail even more than before to seperate virtual worlds and reality.
Nothing we can do about that.

It’s more the clash of the wow book lore vs the ingame lore.

The ingame lore always left topics more on the surface dark and the books went into detail. But that was always the case , since warcraft rts games

It’s different audiences , and demanding to suddenly force the book levels into the game will naturally clash.

I would welcome it but also understand why people may not like it.

Which makes threads like this one a bit useless as they don’t really adress the issue

Whats they gonna do if a real spider runs up the wall from behind the monitor. Or worse a moth attacks.

Where are my gnome poo collecting quests?

It makes me always sad to see people talk like you do. It’s just such a low quality of in and output. Basically you bring nothing to the conversation outside of trying to make yourself look cool and edgy ?

Maybe try to edit your message to increase it quality as a second attempt to say what you wanna say
