It’s something I find rather petty (especially when you have 19 members of your community liking your post - and then Telaryn) and it’s one of those things whose departure from the forum culture would really improve the level of the discussion.

As you say, you don’t like me because I am a centrist who thinks we don’t have to be bigots/radicals to resolve things in our community. I’m sure you have your reasons to root for the worst in the server.

I never said they were race-based, and I never said (as some people interpreted) that divide in economics are explained by biology. I just said our biological luggage plays a factor when it comes to performance in jobs - many people don’t like that and neither do I.
Ironically, I have actually learned this thing while making a paper against the idea that biology should be considered an important factor. But in the end I surrendered to the evidence I found, because that is what science demands, that you accept that we live in a world that can really suck, and we must work from there to improve it.
Ah, I can respect that. Obviously, the ‘why’ question was mostly just my chance to throw in an Ursula line, not to actually attempt to pressure you!

The specific wording you used is that ethnic minorities “aren’t into management” and therefore them being “unable to afford a porsche” as a result of that is on them. I’m sure you can agree on just how insensitive that comes across.
Everyone is and should be equal. And on paper the system is supposed to work like that, but in reality it doesn’t and the hot takes you took were either really naive or misinformed of the whole picture leading to the socioeconomic circumstances many minorities come from. Laziness isn’t it.

It does. It was meant to be a provocation to someone who was, under the lines, accusing me of being a n*zi. Something that (also for personal reasons) really rubs me the wrong way.
I think this statement is true. But it’s really hard to figure out what is the best solution. You see, if you think it’s just oppression from above, people are going to focus a lot on all the issues that come from above (which DO exist) and to interpret everything that stops a minority from growing as part of that narrative, thus ignoring important cultural aspects (of an ethnic group or what-you-have) that aren’t fitting in a certain society, among other things.

The way I see radicals is usually people who are unwilling to accept other people’s values, as they believe that humanity should be like they want it to be.
I believe this approach is connected to an idealized idea of humanity that doesn’t fully work in practice, makes people worse, and that it’s better to have people find their own way by making mistakes as they progress with their life, rather than force them to be something they aren’t.
