If i enter a maths study group classroom with a maths textbook, am I automatically âdoing mathsâ even if I take to seat to read adult magazines, gardening monthly, etc.
Your post seems to suggest you think thatâs all there is to it, and that the other individuals in there are wrong to accuse me of ânot doing mathsâ and taking up their space. I mean I brought a textbook, what else do you people want?
What you actually want me to DO MATHS? This is not what I was expecting when I stepped into this study group! I am outraged!
The point about sophisication is true. However thatâs like the maths group not insisting you study quadratics or geometry, so long as youâre there to study maths of some form, youâre good.
Turning up with a textbook and then not using it or doing maths of any form during your stay is the issue here. You wonât find anyone complaining here about people lacking backstories etc. In fact a lot of advice here recommends not to have too convoluted backstory as itâs not something others can see or know, so it doesnât pay to have 15 levels of intrigue there upfront. Rather itâs more straightforward to have a bare bones concept and then your character gets backstory written through stuff you actually participate in on the server.
So the barriers to entry are far lower than youâre imagining. All people ask if you do some stuff IC in a way that contributes to the server. Doesnât have to be every day, or even week, just something. But no, rolling on an Rp server with a RP name and then doing nothing to act upon that character precedent set is not enough. The joke is it really wouldnât take a huge amount for that kind of player to be seen as acceptable to the vast majority here.
This is a common caricature of the RP community, they ask for the earth. Look through the threads here, itâs simply not true. The overwhelmingly common thinking is âwe donât care if you RP once a day or once a month, just actively engage in RP and donât disrupt those who do so.â.

I think the more apt comparison is downtown playgrounds and dog parks. You take your dog to a dog park, and you take your children to a playground. Usually thereâs nothing preventing you from walking your dog on the playground, but if your dog keeps defecating into the sandbox the children will be angry and you will be unwelcome and so will be all those who donât walk their dogs in the dog park.

People from the toxic cesspit known as Ravencrest telling actual RPers what RP is. Sheesh. And an alt-poster at that, too.
As much as I like Asmon, I bet our Gnome friend from Ravencrest here is one of the spergs that was following him around constantly in-game and be like ââarrrgh, mr. streamer, please give me some attentionââ or ''omg guizzeee, iâm on stream!!!1!111" all the while the server bled to death.
I mean, Asmon should have expected this and shouldnât have gone anywhere near Stormwind. However itâs not surprising that the server lags out, considering the servers lag out during large scale RP-PvP battles as well. If itâs any condolence, his 24-hour trial should be over so next time he will be able to enter instances so he doesnât have to roam around Stormwind and Elwynn waiting for someone to invite him to a garrison.
I am glad I left my former PvE realm and joined in on the RP. Cause by the Titans, theyâre full of absolutely imbeciles.

Really hate this Asmongold guy, coming into a server like AD and disrupting my high quality stand around and do nothing RP, the lag he causes me hindered my ability to protect the greatest trees within the cathedral square, and reduced my ability to be a edgy Pandaren Demon Hunter.
The rage has built up so much inside me, HOW could this person do such a thing, he is not welcome on -my- server.
Now excuse me, I must return and protect the trees in Stormwind by afking at them, and watching the citizens of Stormwind stand inside each others pixels, looking into each others souls, and taking part in this great roleplay that Stormwind is well known for.
