Man`ari starting zone in Azyremyst?

Let me first begin by explaining a little about the post and the title.

As you are all aware now, we got a new customization option for the draenei which unlocked red skin/purple for the race. The quest explains a bit about a man ari by the name of azrael (something like that) wanting to repent and helping Velen out. ( I know its a lot more than that) but to keep it short, some of them have now joined with the draenei, as we saw in the tashamaat heritage armor quest for the draenei

The thing is, the alliance has not accepted them in since nothing of the sort was shown in the game. I think it was really cool of blizzard to give us an option for red skin draenei and nice of them to make the gift of the naruu green and a special effect when you use it.

But in all honesty I think it should have been implemented much better, first your starting zone is Ammen vale? like what, it makes 0 sense, I know its just a skin option but then maybe they should have gone more in the line of an allied race perhaps or give a questchain where the alliance at least acknowledges that some repentant man ari are willing to join the alliance.

At first I thought it was so cool to create your own man ari but then it made no sense, starting in ammen vale, suddenly entering stormwind? doing quest in the world as a man ari, buying the alliance tabard? there is nothing that explains why the recently joined man ari would fight for the alliance.

So even if I do enjoy the red skin options and I still think it looks cool even though I would have also preferred like fel-tainted customization, its almost unplayble how it makes no sense at all to show up in stormwind. They could at least have a somewhat quetschain which established that some of the man ari are allowed to walk freely in stormwind/ alliance territory.

I have never played on an rp realm before, I always play on normal but I rp a little bit on my own, I want at least to have a race/class combination that fits the lore and a mount and transmog that fits the race/class which is possible with many races but for the moment it is almost impossible to enjoy a man ari playhrough since they are there but still kind of are not there, if you get what I mean.

And in the end, when you click on the character it just says draenei warlock… not that impressive honestly for being a LITERAL man ari who have been an enemy for such a long time, to be somewhat playable but have NO good explanation as to why they are wearing the alliance tabard and what do the horde think about, THE MAN ARI BEING ON THE SIDE OF THE ALLIANCE?

I usually dont complain much and do enjoy for the most part everything about world of warcraft lore, even retail, believe it or not, I liked leveling in shadowlands and the expansion even though of course it had problems lore-wise and I understand why it received some backlash.

The one thing that literally gave me headache was a long lasting enemy, the man ari not receiving a proper introduction in the game. Sorry but the frustration is real, how does the night elves for example think of this?

Anyway I like to know, what are your opinions on this?

Man’ari are a customization option, not its own Allied Race. There’s no need to implement a whole starting area just for them.

IF they were an allied race they probably would start on Argus and there would be a quest chain to hunt down Demons and earn their place as a Repentant - or whatever the “good” demons the Aliance have called
But since they are “just” a costumization…?
I doubt anything will be implemented

I know they are only a customization option but I mean they have never before been available and it does state in the quest that led up to us gaining the customization option that they are some man ari that want to join the draenei, how then does it make sense for them to just suddenly begin in ammen vale questline, it does not add up,

what suddenly the draenei see a red man ari warlock and be like, hi fellow good draenei, open your heart to the light and what not?

By that Logic the Dark Rangers and Night Elf Dark Rangers should also have an entire questline to explain their reasoning for joining the Alliance or Horde Respectively.

THATS EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED!

I know I am not special and getting what I want is not on blizzards high priority list but it would have been much better if we got that instead, so they would at least make more sense lore-wise.

Do you think blizzard will continue with this, like future quests or should I give up my hopes already now?

Think you should give up any hope that a Customization will recieve any special attention, apart from possibly a questline to initially unlock it. I just don’t see blizzard focusing on such a minor aspect. Also the complication between having to check on character creator, if a character uses X-Skin, it should get this intro, else it should get this.

And what if you change your skin later at a Barber? What would stop everyone from just starting as Man’ari to do the questlines, then change back again?

hmm, I guess I have missed that part, they dont really have any quest saying something about dead night elves with red eyes and the same goes for dead blood elves( I am assuming thats what the costumization is implying, that they are undead.

Although I think the dark ranger costumization can be a little bit of self explanatory dont you? like sylvanas has been raising undead rangers for years, I mean corpses from blood elves for example, the costumization has just not been in the game. If you have seen it, there is a little dialog between sylvanas and Lor`themar in the throne of thunder isle, in mop, where he says “Sylvanas leave our corpses be” and sylvanas replys with “what about the alliance corpses?” (The dialog might not be a 100% correct, since I dont remember) This already implies that the dark rangers/ undead blood elves/ night elves have been in the game, you now have the option to costumize it but the man ari are a special case because they have never been on the side of the draenei or alliance for that part and they are a hated enemy of both factions,

a special introduction for the man ari (like the allied races) would clarify a bit more.

The arch nemesis of the Warcraft series . The Eredar . The core of the Burning Legion . The once that got the orcs to Azeroth and have basically been a driving force since the War of the Ancients , from Warcraft 1 to Legion …
Reduced to a customization , because funzies .

A total disgrace to any lore fan .
This should never have been implemented like this and anyone who defends this , because “you got cool customization” is a deluded FOMO player who just consumes the next mog thrown at them .

They are not cool anymore . Just a random skin color .
They are not Eredar . They are just red skin . Not to mention you don’t even get all the features that come with Eredar like green blood , cracked skin , flaming parts of the body ets . You even get “Gift of the Naaru” as a racial as EREDAR . kek lol
Total disappointment .

Well since it is just a skin option, you win the argument, its true, you cant just change a skin and expect a different interaction with npcs. Then I guess making them an allied race would have been the best way to go.

What are those flaming boy parts…? :eyes:
Sir, you had my curiosity … but now you have my attention !

Every boy has their flaming parts , but in this case it was typo from body .

I think if your boy parts are burning you should seek a doctor’s advice :grimacing:
Also, typos are source of endless fun

The only way I would see this happen is if they also added a line in the customization, a dropdown menu, where you could choose if you’re a regular dreanei or a man’ari. Could work for dwarves too where players could specify what clan they’re part of, like if they wanted to specifically represent wildhammers. It wouldn’t really change much in game expect how npc’s address you, otherwise would be a ton of work.

I COULD NOT AGREE MORE WITH YOU!
there is not much more to say except, I AGREE.

Horde definitely already explained. Alliance would need the explanation

That can also work as a solution, but the wildhammer is a clan, like many other clans within the dwarven community, although different you can still rp like a wildhammer by getting their tabard/armor set etc

The man ari are a little bit different because its not just a “clan” they became somewhat twisted like demons and have been an enemy of many races throughout millenia. just adding them as a skin option was kind of a let down.

I know they’re not really a clan but as of now they’re a skin and will always be treated as a regular dreanei in game. Personally I think its better than they’re a skin and not just another recolor like the LFG are, who also I think should’ve just been a skin instead of separate “race”. And then instead gone with a dropdown menu option where you can choose what specifically you want identify as, this could be so easily implemented without going the extra mile and also taking away a lot from an actually different and unique allied race.

I think that would be really cool in game feature and definitely would solve this sort of dilemma.
But I do wonder, does that go more in a way of subraces? not that I have anything against subraces, thats also a cool feature but subraces is something I dont see blizzard doing, I dont know why, I just cant see blizzard actually implementing subraces.
