So…. to earn gold for raids on my mage, i tend to offer boosts for gold.
However, when advertising boosts… in the correct channel. I receive whispers of ‘Reported’.
Wasn’t really sure why until i got a whisper saying ‘Watch out, they’re mass reporting you on there channel’, because i’m undercutting the bots/boosters.
Is this a thing… has anyone else encountered this, and has this led to a ban for anyone?
I have submitted a ticket for the whispers and have proof.
I assume you here mean the Service Channel, and in that case you should not get reported.
Any other channel - like Trade, LFG or Yell is indeed bannable.
But just because you get reported is not the same you get banned. I have reported countless people for spamming boost adverts in LFG channel - but they keep spamming their adverts day in and day out.
This is most definitely a thing and is a well known issue in the community it’s the boosting mafia or Iranian mafia however you wish to call them and they will get multiple accounts to spam report you to get you banned as it’s an automated system after x amount of reports it can trigger you to get muted not sure about banned though and it doesn’t have to be because you are undercutting them they will do it just to stop you competing.
If you start getting whispers off of random people with no message that’s a sign they are reporting you as they have to right click your name from the whisper to file the report.
Blizzard continue to let them abuse a poorly designed system with no repercussions.
This doesn’t seem to be right, another recent case of a player claiming “mafia-like” behaviour was reviewed and the OP was found to have violated the Terms by having an offensive TRP3 profile with a single report and no other related reports were found of an organised or mafia-like nature.
Which then proceeded to blame it on AI
Then after the report having been reviewed publically was “denied having anything inappropriate in his TRP3 profile” by their so called sworn friend:
Followed by an attempt to distract the reported person by blaming the reporter. After that they went further down the rabbit hole by declaring they were targeted by being PRIDE (see how far it went from “mass report by mafia-like to get you penalised” into something else?)
To finally demanding a full investigation into the “weaponization of the report system” which in this case, there was none apparent. All we’re seeing is excuse after excuse, reason after reason to justify their behaviour or avoiding being wrong with filmsy, unsourced and easily dismissed arguments that we see on a daily basis on the forums.
Most of this happens because when players are wrong, they seek the nearest thing to validate that they’re right. Some people made some videos about it with some (good) editing and then misinformation continues to leak from that point on. They farm you for clicks and ad revenue and everytime this subject comes up they gain more from it and you lose more from it.
It’s up to you to rethink this or come with actual sources (not hearsay) if you’d like to disprove otherwise.
Ignore the green shill, he openly lies for Blizzard for free.
Yes the mafia will mass report you and you get automated 1 or 2 week silence, which you can appeal, which will usually take longer than a week to get an answer that isn’t an AI generated letter that you broke ToS and your silence is upheld. There really isn’t anything you can do, boosting is for Iranian professionals, normal players not allowed.
That is very nice to hear, but my point was that sanctions and blocked swift cards are no barrier for those driven enough by either desire to play or to feed their family.
It was one recent example. The entire US CS forums is full of the same “mass report” accusation but has all been debunked from other players that it was absolute nonsense based on that.
Since you still haven’t shown actual proof after replying to my post it can be safely said that you don’t have anything.
A recent example here on the EU side yet again:
We have this player who says he got mass reported, he then claims he got tagged because of illegal addon usage and then for having a wrong character name in 2 other forum posts. Original point was “mass report” and a half dozen other arguments.
Haha, I’ve never seen more cringe thing than this. I was boosting with my mage to make some golds for future (because i have limited time to play and around that period (on february) i had short time to make gold). I was undercutting 5-10g because i didn’t want to waste my limited time to find ppl to boost and being greedy. So, they started to warn me first (i took screenshots because there were a lot) but i didn’t listen. Because i’m a free person, right? And then i got tens of whispers like ”reported” and something in persian and bam guess what happened? yeah i disconnected, when i re-enter the game i was muted for a week. Then i created a second account to advertise and a mafia member wrote me and we made a conversation. They started reporting my second account too he send me their “discord” link I joined there and saw that they are putting a name there and they are starting to report. I got all the screenshots. Made a ticket and put the proofs there with discord link and you know what happened? NOTHING ahahaha. So, please don’t make fun of us… At that time (Around january to march) may be hundreds of people suffered this issue and forum was blowing with these threads. And then these threads stopped. You know why? People gave up to fight with this because blizzard didn’t care…
