Massive FPS Drops.. game's stuttering, nothing works

Does anyone else can’t see latest up to date information on the current know issues clicking the top link? All I’ve got is “Something went wrong on our end, page not found”.

Before that I could at least track that they are aware about stutters from that page. Now it’s just nothing. Zero updates everywhere…

First time posting on the forums, and I’d like to chime in that this problem isn’t just affecting people still playing on toasters. Some of us lucky enough to have a solid, new machine because of our job or otherwise, are still having pretty significant stuttering problems.

This is worst in my experience in Valdrakken > Raids (or BGs), especially large ones > open world zone transitioning (like when the mid-screen text appears from one area to the next) > contained Dragon Isles zones like the Evoker starting zone > old world zones.

Typical tech support solutions simply don’t help, or have such a small effect on this issue that it’s not worth compromising for (the things people noted like turning off sound helping, lowering settings, reinstalling, disabling addons, etc). The bottom line seems to be something in the game engine broke with DF in a way it’s not been broken before.

I’ve got a similar setup to Darixus a few posts above me, and even on settings 3/10 in raids, I get noticeable stuttering, especially during heavy visual mechanics.

Something broke, and I hope Blizz can manage to fix it, because it’s pretty tiresome. Immersion-breaking stuttering makes it harder to enjoy the wonderful new zones, towns, raids, and an otherwise fantastic expansion.

No sound fixes it for me.

Anyone who’s got access to PTR can take a look and check does 10.0.5 will fix stuttering please?

No changes, it’s just less noticeable because there’s less people playing.

Just had a massive freeze happen to me upon entering the world.
At first it was 3 seconds freeze, followed by 5s freeze where all the textures ‘reloaded’.
I really, -really- hope we see a fix to this soon.

same everything same. same same…

I think no one is interested, months have passed and it’s still the same. I gave up hope.

If the company can’t fix its own game, then the problem is elsewhere.

FPS drops/shuttering occurring during RAID boss mechanics that have huge dmg for the raid. The reason is that Paladins use Aura Mastery or Divine Toll. Worst FPS drops are when the Paladin uses a Combo of these two skills.
We checked it many times in the last two weeks. and the problem concerns all those who play Blizz Ui, Elvui with or without addons.

Whenever there was a problem with Shuttering, we asked our paladins if they used the above mentioned abilities. They confirmed. in two weeks of testing, we’ve never had a fps/shuttering issue without using the Paladins Aura Mastery/Divine Toll.

The problem got worse for me, also no days without stutter now. At least the few good days kept me going.

I really wish to play, but at this point the stutter only gives me a(n actual) headache and can’t do anything properly anymore… If the patch doesn’t bring any fix, then this will be my last month subscribed.

checking also from time to time, but im afraid thats what we’re left with. I thought it impossible but now i really start to think they wont be fixing this

WOWHead is reporting on the server instability issues - this may be the public ‘kick in the behind’ that is needed.

Perhaps trying to get WOWHead to talk about the stuttering/FPS issues would help as well.

Probably this is the last expansion I purchased if standards not going to change - performance and communication wise. Also I’m waiting for the patch. If stutters not going to be fixed I will have to cancel my subscription.

People who are using the PTR report that the stuttering issue is not fixed as it stands.

So any pull with more than 5 mobs inside a dungeon will result in a significance performance loss. 5 mobs can easily be above 90 FPS, add 5 more to that and you’re down to 45 FPS, and another 5 and you’re in the 20-35 FPS territory. M+ is unplayable if you want to actually try to time the keys by doing big pulls.

I don’t know if this is relevant but whenever I cast Light of Dawn in M+ as a Holy Paladin, my game freezes for like half a second.

What’s your CPU?

Stutters happens on a 5800X3D as well. So unless someone builds their own CPU, this is just how it is. No communication from Blizzards side, they’re more focused on the in game store.

I am running on a 5800X3D and yes it stutters in Valdrakken like hell when i fly over and land in the middle.
But i am talking about dungeons now.
My FPS there is mostly above 100 with a few dips on bug pulls, but nothing severe.

So if it drops to 20ish FPS then the CPU is too slow or there is an Addon/Weakaura issue.

we’re talking about stutters, so from 100 when u dip to 90 u actually go lower for a very short time, but you dont notice or it doesn’t bother your eye that much, but its noticeable.
I really see it on streamers on youtube everywhere, ppl can stay in old zones in empty regions but its present for everyone it would seem

Btw for example lost ark RU and Korean version is smooth very very smooth, the eu and na the amazon localization is terrible and stuttery, no idea why and wont start guessing but i had both clients back to back and its insane the difference, but milions of ppl played and hundreds of thousands still do. BDO is the same so i guess gamers can live with that.

I know and it’s really annoying.
But the last week or so with fewer people in the open world playing it has improved a bit.

Yeah but what bothers me even more… you can see most streamers even with high-end PCs drop to 30-40ish FPS in a raid or even worse on big trash pulls.
