The game feels like vanilla to me, the only things that don’t feel like vanilla are AV premades, WSG queue dodging and X-Realms, I don’t think that’s gonna ease the premade vs pug wsg issue much but please by all means change that. People could argue spellbatching and leeway but I have to be honest I don’t feel such effects on my gaming experience. If people want to change that I’m all up for it too.

This statement is pretty vauge. I’m sure orcish racial was never intented to proc 5 times in a row, final boss of AV was never intented to be pulled and killed in 8 mins after the game starts with all the WMs alive, WSG premade fix was never intented to brake game for pugs. Most likely there are a lot of other things, that “was never intended to…”, but I’m sure you got the idea.
I (and a lot of other people) was “exploiting” it during several expansions in retail in the very first place, especially in WotLK to get BG achievements. And I also was this “poor guy” who was thrown in 20vs40 AV for I can’t even remember how many times. People didn’t even think about reporting it as “exploit”. The question is - what the hell is wrong with people in classic? Why premades in AV = “exploit, you smash random pugs”, but premades in WSG = " it’s fine, get your own premade, what’s the problem?" ?
Man, do I really need to make a drawing for you of why it’s intended to run premades on both WSG and AB and why it’s not in AV? And wait, are you actually saying AV premades were in Vanilla at any given point in time from 1.0 to 1.13? You can’t be real man. I’m just sad there aren’t any blue posts clarifying Blizzards stance on basic things like this, maybe the Blue team thinks it’s such a basic concept that it’s not worth their time. I would much rather seeing all you retailers having a discussion with them tbf but I’m sure you would still whine and not get it.

The point is, it doesn’t matter what vanilla should be, it matters what vanilla was and is. If you’re not happy, as apparently so many alliance players aren’t, don’t let the door hit you on the way out, if the game tanks then so be it. In fact it feels the game has already tanked with so much doomsaying. The game will end with no alliance players and will die. I look forward to the day I can completely say “you think you do but you don’t”.

I’m not sure about 1.0, since AV was introduced in 1.5 or 1.6 if IRC, but it definetly was in 1.12, yes.
Man what else can I say other than no AV premades weren’t in vanilla that would make you believe it? Did AV ever had a join as a raid group at any point during Vanilla including the 1.12 patch? Were people queue syncing in 2005? Not to my knowledge, and even if they did, it wasn’t intended design unless the dev team was in such a rush to deliver the patch that they forgot to code the “join as group” button.
I guess both AB and WSG having a join as group button and AV not, isn’t clear enough of a message for you.
I am starting to think some of the people in this forum that claim having played vanilla are just outright lying.

Which would be the best thing they would ever do if making changes to turn the game into a player made version was the other option. But at the end of the day you got vanilla pretty much as it was in terms of coding with a few bad changes but you’re the one that’s crying. Changing certain mechanics won’t bring back the “in line with vanilla” spirit that you seek. The retail mentality has already taken over.
It works in the exact same way. The meta has evolved, but Blizzard should not make changes to core game design based on meta.
The choice is to que up for wsg vs AV / world PVP.
I’m not an expert on words, philosophy, literature or w/e but i’m pretty sure that facing pug only 1 time the last 4 days with 6-8 games per day is not about risk but an exception of certain events.
