Are these working? or disabled? cause i can’t interact with them
I know people are against LFG tools, but this was part of vanilla
Just walk
working as intended
What does walking have to do with anything?
They have added the sum functionality in TBC
In vanilla, meeting stones were just for meeting at. They had no summon functionality.
No, meeting stones were like an LFG tool, you “queued” and it found other people to group with.
I know they got replaced by summoning stones in TBC but i’m not talking about that.
Oooh I don’t remember those at all.
Their functionality was also added to innkeepers at one point, so it was more convenient than going to the dungeon entrance to click on them.
They should be working, but… that doesn’t mean it will do what’s needed heh’. I don’t think enough people are using them, in the whatever-algorithmic-level-range it’s using.
I think they’re the most obscure part of Vanilla yet. From what I can find on them, they might even work with the 10man-dungeon concept in mind. It’s very weird… very strangely worded…
Edit: Actually, you know what. If anyone here actually used the meeting stone in 1.7—1.12 or whatever and actually formed a group, come forward. Speak with us. Because I don’t think you exist.
they are designed for you to gather and camp there safely while looking for people a bard could pass by and sing for the team while we still wait for more people to meet and set up parties, it has been a thing for Classic mmo’s Like FFXI and Everquest but minus the meeting stones its gathering Areas to venture through dungeouns, Its a massive multiplayer online roleplaying Game. not an Action online game.
The meeting stone functionality was almost universally hated by the playerbase. In it’s initial form it required players to be at the stone to form a group, instead of in a city or roaming doing quests etc. If people did venture over to the stone, they would be waiting well over an hour… to not find a full group to play with. They didn’t work then, they don’t work now. Realistically, this is still #nochanges.
Also, in 1.5, the stones were disabled, as it had been moved to the inkeepers (but only nearby ones) as mentioned above, so this is expected behavior nonetheless.
Two players to get them working you say
You’re rewriting history here, just cause people dislike LFG now it doesn’t mean that it was a hated feature back then and it is a change, one you would be pretty angry about if the whole concept of LFG was removed in classic and never implemented in retail.
Also they weren’t disabled in 1.5, innkeepers also gained the functionality but stones still worked.
Nobody used it because it made terrible groups. Maybe they decided not to bring it back as it just baited players into wasting their time.
Yeah but for lower level, where specs don’t matter much, it was rather useful.
