Megaservers

This is great fun Blizzard, spending 1.5 hour trying to tag nonexistant mobs fora single quest. Probably getting a mob to fight every 15 minutes or so. 10 ppl camping the same mobs and they barely spawn at all.

What the actual…

I had this issue last week but it doesnt seem as bad now. Also you could make a group with the people who are doing the same quest. It is a mmo afterall :slightly_smiling_face:

Sort of hard to invite other faction to a party.

One of the reason I do not play Anniversary.

Unfortunately the weekend is never a good time to quest.

Yeah this experience is just straight up irritating and not even close to being fun. But it might be for the best. Blizzard would probably force us to Cataclysm again and effectively kill off all work we put in anyway.

Oooookay, its OK, we know you dont play fresh, why do you have to mention it in every damn post. I dont think you have fun in era tbh, because people who have fun dont waste their time talking stuff bad

I have fun in HC, thank you very much.
I only reply sometimes  and only when I wonder why people love the megaservers, yet complain about the consequenses. And only active on Forums when at work, but idle  can’t well play there

Just enjoy your flowerpicking in barrens and let others enjoy fresh. Each to their own. Just enjoy your dead servers where is the Problem?

Mostly in the uncertainty as to the future of the Anniversary servers, in the bugs bleeding through to Era, in the slippery slope that makes people want ever more, ever larger changes, in the arrogance of Fresh players, and in the idiocy of Blizz really.

If Era could be kept a museum, then I’d have no problems, and no need to ever go here again. But every time I ask for roll back of changes to Era I’m met with a wall of Live with it, it’s 2024, and worse from players not even playing on the Era servers. This over time has made me just a tad bitter, and more apt to point out whenever Freshies complain over the incongruencies of Fresh.

here, let me share with you a quick solution
I’m not sure if you need an addon for this, but you probably do, if you’re able to check in which layer you are (in my case, it shows on the minimap), and the spot you’re at is full, send a text to your guild chat saying “can someone in another layer besides layer -number- invite me to a party for one sec”, it doesn’t matter if the one who invited you isn’t at the same zone as you, you will be instantly teleported to their layer, which could be empty for you
hope that helps, mate. that’s how I’ve been questing and dodging little hordies who only try to engage when they’re not alone

Thank you Gothic! I’m aware of laying-switching, but none the less, a great advice!

Yeah this problem just made me quit the game, cannot take it anymore. Utter garbage. I’m all for a bit of competition, but this ain’t it chief. 2019 was magic, this is a pile of stinking crap.

You probably have nova world buffs installed, that shows the layer info (amongst other things)

same here… I am about to quit because of this :face_exhaling:

Solutions:

  1. Wait for few weeks or a month so people advance in higher areas. But then will not be able to find group for Elite quests or dungeons
  2. Find a place with mobs that are not part of quest and grind there. But this is boring and not sustainable
  3. Quit
  4. Blizzard actually FIX their game and increase spawn rates or layers! I know spawn rates may be exploit from bots but at the end being able to play the game is much more important

Are you on PvP realm? I’m on the PvE realm and I dropped only 2 quests due to lack of mobs. There is a lot of people but its not that crazy.

And as of yesterday there was like less than 100 player in 50-60 Horde bracket, few hundred in 40-50, majority in 30-40 but whats also surprising constant flow of 10-20 players. If you are at the tip of the leveling wave than giving few days for it to pass could be a good idea (or rushing ahead of it ;))

cba either
one sever is joke
keep it blizzard

I’m playing on the PvP server, and the zones I’m in are usually populated by 1 - 2 people per quest related spot, and it’s okay
just joing a guild and ask someone to invite you to a party to switch layer, you’ll probably find one with 1 or no people

I have to remind myself that I have, in the past, read genuine, heartfelt posts from people gushing over login queues, saying they’re an essential part of the vanilla experience and they’d be more than happy to wait 12 hours, play for two minutes and then get DCd.

That isn’t even an exaggeration, I’ve truly seen those posts a few years ago when Classic first went live.

Of course the same people immediately started moaning, stamping their feet and complaining when they actually experienced login queues for real.

I’ve also seen people enthusing about having to queue up for 40 minutes in order to kill a named mob.

Personally I think they are insane - which is why I will never, ever play on a crowded megaserver, especially at launch.

I’ve just spent 2h30min farming 8 basilisk scales and 8 embers in the Charred Vale. Peak Classic experience. But frankly, I’d rather do that than spend 2,5 hours forming a group for an unpopular dungeon like I did in Classic 2019. LFG groups fill almost instantly, and that is worth pretty much any questing inconvenience to me. Slow road to 60 is such a small price to pay for not being on a dead realm. Like it doesn’t even compare.
