For a minute, let’s compare warlocks to a motocycle, and devs who working on us as a driver.
There is a several category of drivers, but we will use only two major ones.
It is a casual drivers, and motorcycle enthusiasts.
Now if warlocks is a motocycle, devs are drivers, Xplac livecycle is moto-season, and current warlcoks problem is problem with motocycle - engine or something else.
How would react casual driver for some problem? If problem are small, he may fix it quickly and drive as usual till end of the curent season. But what if problem is serious? Casual driver will probably put his motorcycle aside for rest of the season if he can’t or unwilling to fix it now.
In the other hand motorcycle enthusiasts will fix motorcycle no matter what - during season or off season, or no matter how serious ploblem is. He will fix what matter for him/her.
And this is what warlocks…well and whole game needs right now, not a casual driver, but enthusiast - People who won’t wait till the end of Xpac to fix what is broken, this game need the people who will fix it right now.
Blizzard, we don’t want to wait another Xpac to play our class, and be compedetive in this game. Warlocks are in development hell second Xpac in the row, and this is your direct responsibility to fix it. We as players provided tons of feedback in Legion Alpha/beta/release we provided tons of feedback in BFA Alpha/Beta/Release and you still forces us into mess YOU that you calls a tanky caster! Warlock comunity said to you loud and clear, that we don’t like changes that has beed made in Legion/BFA.
You continues to ruin warlock class design, warlock class fanatsy and more importantly you ruin warlock class comunity.
I’m going to be entirely honest. I’ve not visited these official forums in a long time, and I only just opened this thread to have a curious peek… And all of a sudden I discover that warlocks are apparently “ruined and treated as second class citizens” !
I honestly had no clue we were treated this badly. Here I’ve been playing the game and enjoying it for the past few months without even realizing my class was made unplayable.
It’s pretty funny to read a post like this. Don’t you think you might be exaggerating a bit?
A bit…maybe?
From PvE standpoint warlock may seems to be alright. But in PvP this is second disastrous XPac in the row, where my skill as player almost diminished by terrible class design.
Boredom is symptom of much bigger problem, that was produced by other problem.
Boredom is result of non engaging gameplay - i can describe it more, but i would rather copy my old post, from old forum.
Another problem it is current dev team - they don’t understand what warlock are, and because of that they don’t understand what warlock needs in current game.
It’s funny how Locks always whine about PVP scenario, granted Priests has OS, but not every Priest desires to be a healer… Those that choose to roll with Shadow Priest underperform compared to Locks alot in both PVE and PVP scenario… Warlocks are boring to play if you’re Affliction (not my type of spec ironicly given how i went Shadow Priest, but i really did enjoy Destro Locks in everything but PVP - still way overperforms Priests tho… )
Yes SPriests in same boat with Warlocks now.
But tragedy of warlocks is that our overall class design is garbage. We don’t have alternative in our gameplay.
For starters Locks has always been melting people since the start, fair enough more on a RBG scale than an Arena scale, but if you get past the zerg i’ve seen locks repeatedly melt people within a second.
I have no symapthy for Locks because from my experience i only found it hard to play during 3’s which is equally as frustrating as Shadow and Elemental, my issue with the game would be more focused towards PVP in general favors melee’s over casters in heavy encounters, not 1 individual class or spec, from my personal experience in a 1v1 scenario as a Shadow Priest my biggest counter is a Lock, even in a BG scenario you can sneak up on a Lock nuke them down to 10% on like 14 seconds to only see their health go straight up with say Healthstone, from that moment on i get 3 dots on me and they just use drain life and you’ll be dead within 8 seconds while they’re 100% the entire encounter, now that hardly sounds fair doesn’t it? Locks needs to be buffed 1000% so they can 1 shoot everything because reasons… Problem evolves around the fact there are just too many CC’s for rooted heroes, melee’s deal too much damage in the process while there are 9 melee classes, there are only 6 Ranged, less effort are put into ranged enviorment unless you’re a Mage due to some Bias ?favoritism? i love ranged and i prefer ranged ranged over melee, but whenever it comes to M+ or PVP scenarios people seem to either avoid you alltogether, or they go with the Mage.
Because when everything narrows down to speedruns in M+ which it has pretty much turned into people would rather have a Warrior spinning and Demon Hunters beaming packs down instantly rather than have a Lock priest shammy sitting in the background spending half the encounter compared to DH/Warr to just charge up their abilities… And this might be a personal experience, but from what i’ve seen there’s been a heavy decline in desired Mages lately due to people seem to be using Drums, so why choose a ranged when melee’s are in the advantage… And that’s where i think Blizzard… Sorry… Activision needs to address the balance of the game as a whole.
Health stone now is a total joke, that can be used once in combat.
In Legion it shared CD with health potions.
For you warlocks is your persona counters right?
For me as warlock it is almots imposible to kill any Melee if i don’t have terrain advantage.
As warlock my core abilities was ripped off from my spell book and was placed in talents.
Warlocks have a talend row on 75 level where two out of three talents is your former baseline abilities.
Priests as i know has simila thing, but. Warlock as class that doesn’t have any aclernative, warlock broken in it’s core design.
Priests in the other hand has two alternatives in holy or disk…yes this isn’t a damage dealing specs…well disk may actualy be, but your class is not pushed into corner.
This is second Xpac in the row, where warlocks are ruined by crap game fantasy, and crap game design. In legion affli might be good, due drainlife insane healings, but this was it, self heals from DL was the only thing that kept affli good in PvP.
And this doesn’t mean that it was fun to play mechanicaly as Affli. Demo and Destro was a crap, affli was a bit better crap.
