Here i am, the Bright Seer, with plans…
Balance must be maintained; with the mentions of the worst, mentions of best should come.
What are the best character concepts you’ve seen? (or have in mind, or play)
Some that you really enjoyed and loved the character, interacting with them IC, etc.
Or you have any in mind yourself? Feel free to share.
Smiles at Akamito.

One of the best character concepts I’ve seen… hmm.
Well there were two done by a friend of mine. One was an Argent Dawn Templar ( inspired by the RPG’s which were not canon, but I do think it added some nice flavor).
The other being a death knight that still desperately tries to cling to whom she was in life, despite being a creature that is the polar opposite. This has inspired my own death knight immensely, and for some reason other death knights did seem to like having us around!

I wonder if we might be thinking of the same person. There is one templar I know who could qualify.
After over a decade of roleplaying it can be hard to sift through them all, but one that stands out, from all the way back in Vanilla: Gnome Paladin.
Just that, really. A Gnome Warrior with no powers trying to be a Paladin to the best of his limited personal abilities. Now these days, NElf, Worgen, Pandaren Warriors etc playing as “Paladins” is nothing new, but at the time this concept was fresh and inspiring.
It’s the first time I remember seeing something like it, the first time it was made evident how much potential freedom there is in a concept that is outside of the box, without being something ridiculous (like the Goldshire Vampires and Werewolves that were so common on early DB).

Alright so, this is going to start controversial but bear with me.
A Dragon. Not a Black Dragon or a Bronze or anything crazy. And not how Dragons are currently played or RPers are tempted to play them.
She was a blue Dragon that wanted to blend in and learn how the mortal races do magic literally RIGHT after the Nexus Wars. She hid as an apprentice and studied under like 10 different masters during her time as a character, just trying to make friends and get along.
The best part is, she NEVER let on she was a Dragon. Friends died, problems arose, her guild nearly detonated, and she never once in ten years let on that she was a dragon. Eventually one rogue started sniffing into her past and she had to e l i m i n a t e him and orphan his son.
We didn’t even know OOC until the character eventually died trying to save the guild. THAT is how we found out, and holy cow was she such a beloved character. People straight up denied her being a blue dragon cause they wanted to remember her as their best friend for years.
Sidenote: Please do not RP a Dragon with it being the CENTRAL POINT OF INTEREST FOR YOUR CHARACTER.

What if I do a reversal? Like, I RP as a dragon, but I was in fact a gnome this whole time, pretending to be a dragon!

I actually really like this, please do it.

Wouldnt use Jess for it though.

There was this skeleton called Jimbo who basically wandered around the Eastern Kingdoms trying to find the necromancer who raised him so that he could kill em’.
Thought I’d point that out as I found it funny at the time.

He didnt have ears, so he couldnt fly.
An alcoholic magister who had a habit of sending hate mail to other magisters/denizens of Silvermoon (if my memory serves correctly).
Much love, Duskdrinker

During the pilgrimage with the Handmaidens of Elune, we met a keeper of the grove. This, by itself, is not that notable, but he proceeded to defy my expectations. Instead of regurgitating stereotypical Ancient Wisdom™, he showed genuine insight, proceeding to talk to us about various intellectual and ethical matters in an effort to arrive at a deeper understanding of them together. The result was that the character felt genuinely wise instead of a walking cliche like it is common with characters of non-playable races.

I tend to like radical/zealous characters with a twisted moral code.
One of the concepts I had in mind for a while is a gnome cog-priest who lost their loved ones in the Battle for Dazar’alor and developed a fierce hatred for goblins and the horde + the pre-existing hatred for troggs ans lepers after Gnomeregan.
Basically Gnome Apawi.

Oh boy, where do I start!
Before they were fully realized in Legion, there was this one player who stuck to the concept of a druid of the fin, adding some flavour to the scene (imo) at the time.
Now, this player have gone on to play at least five (or more?) other different druids, but they’ve managed to make all of them unique in how they display their respective paths, how their field of expertise is reflected in personality, and, their authenticity as their own character - likely attributed to said players passion and knowledge of all, (well, most) things nature.
Anyone who really burns for a specific concept has a tendency to execute them well, I’ve found. Hats off to all you creative beans on AD who really burn for our mutual hobby. Y’all are lovely people! Especially Kump.

TBH with Classic being a thing, I was hoping we’d get someone wearing a Vanilla mog who took the wrong turn in the Caverns of time and landed 10 years into the future.

I doubt it. The templar I am talking about wasn’t that particulary known on Argent Dawn, and the char was female. The one you are referring to is male I believe.
