I have to admit, I’m playing the WoW for the first time and started with HC. And I was having a great time! Until… I realized I was playing almost alone. It’s my 5th run, I’m level 25 now and I barely see any players, and if there are any, they are like levels 40-60 just passing by. I feel like the population on levels 1-35 is super low and I’m losing interest in the game not because of lack of content or something but because I don’t feel the competitiveness of other players around me…
It’s hardly a pleasure to play online game alone, especially during this type of challenge where you should see people failing and succeeding all around you. The population of the servers seems to be low due to SoD which from what I know will last for quite some time, so please, merge the dang servers and let us have more fun together and those who are creating new characters. And I would suggest doing it rather sooner than later…
Oh no! Please DON’T. Finally WoW has that Vanilla feel!:
People around, deathnotes popping, help given, asked for, received, but still able to find a mob, pick a flower, or mine.
Zones not empty, but neither filled like bursting.
I also think pop will again rise with SoD loosing interest, and un-merging won’t happen.
Still 3-5 layers on Nek’Rosh (only one layer from around 3 am - 7 am ) and 4-7 on Stitches. Not empty.
They should at the very least lessen amount of layers. Feels stupid to walk in almost empty Orgrimmar when /who shows 50 people in the city.
As for OPs topic, I believe blizz will first see how many people go back to hc from SoD before they start merging servers or activating cross realm grouping. Already personally seeing more people than one week ago back in HC
I believe it would be better for the players to merge the servers and then operate on the number of layers depending on the waves of players, especially since as I mentioned, you (or at least me personally) feel the lack of players particularly on lower levels, by merging the servers we would limit the new players/characters split.
And if there would be a need for an additional HC server due to some streaming event, or anything else causing the huge wave of HC players, Blizz could even boost the excitement by creating some new server.
@Thalissa
Interesting, maybe I was just super unlucky but I got the death notes addon set to global, and still, I see maybe one person dying in 2h (on average) (I’m playing Nek’rosh).
I get your point, but I believe you still wouldn’t find the server crowded with one server and a fair number of layers. Especially after level 20+
One of the major issues is forced named change for ppl with same name if servers are merged, and if Blizzard does the Blizzard way they want to introduce paid transfer before free transfers/mergin of servers.
I think connecting the realms like in retail would be the best way to go.
Check settings, you migth have levels set to only show more than your levels death.
The least number I have for 1 full hour is 3. This was day before yesterday between 10 and 11. Normally i get 7 or more an hour, in daytime and even more after 8 pm. And so many has not this addon - you can see because you cannot “read” corpse. I play Nek’Rosh too.
Just while writing this 1 death popped.
7 minutes later one more
+ 11 minutes one more.
+ 22 minutes, one more.
+ 12 minutes, one more.
+ 2 minutes, one more
and one from my guild, not had Deathlog.
Now one hour passed. 7 dead in one hour - maybe 8 I had DC for five minutes (in town, lucky).
Hope I have now disproved your two hours = 1 death. This is not exactly prime time
Try check settings, as said.
Dude u are literally THE only person posting in this forum in each and every thread against server merge or character transfer.
Can you kindly stop that it’s more than annoying.
The problem is so f…ing obvious. If blizzard doesn’t act now, HC is dead. Every single day we loose more of our community coz people quit frustrated as the game gets unplayable. No dungeon groups, no auction house, no nothing.
Yes there are those SSF enthusiasts. But I believe the majority loves this game because it’s a game to play with your friends, guildies, and randoms.
Blizzard please do something. Happy to pay to move to Stitches
The threads are not yours. I am free to figth server merge. I migth be only OG Vanilla player here. As opposed to Pserver player like you. Would it help, me posting on several alts as many do?
And if people would stop lie. I would maybe stop. But blatant lie I cannot NOT answer to.
Problem is you Pserver expectations, not HC.
And if you keep trash talking servers without me protesting, it will come true.
And if merge now, people tire from SoD, return. We can not un-merge again.
PS. I do not play SSF, just plain, officilal HC with guild, with friends.
PPS. I’m not against server transfer. As long as both servers stay, you transfer all you like, I always wonder it was not in.
Actually I never played on any private server xD.
Im not saying merge is the right thing. Just open transfers. Free or paid I don’t care.
If player want to stay on an empty/small server let them. But don’t punish the ones who would love to play on an active vibrant server for picking the wrong server in a 50/50 bet at the start.
I was fighting against playing SOD because I don’t think I’ll find it fun. But right now, with the server pop the way it is and group content unplayable, I think I’ll have to play it just to get through this dry patch. Which in turn, means 1 less player on HC.
On Nekrosh we are unable to do any group quests or run any dungeons between the hours of 22:00 - 1200 ish, that leaves 10 hours where dungeons / group activities are actually getting enough people to run. It’s ridiculous, I’ve been in groups for hours and hours waiting and waiting and never getting enough people.
I am not enjoying this mode anymore. This Will be the thing that makes me quit, nothing worse than playing an online game and feeling alone. I have numerous chars incl lvl 60s and I love the levelling aspect. I do not enjoy solo questing the entire way to 60 though.
Blizz actually did a very good job with HC, (for a change, after the disaster Diablo turned out to be I was convinced it would be a flop) however I was pleasantly surprised. All in all, the next few weeks / months will paint the picture for the future of HC. Please Blizzard, make the right choice and merge the damn servers.
I checked the settings and it’s set to the widest possible range in every aspect, maybe I have some different addon, dunno. But it’s not only the deaths, just as somebody else listed, it’s also 10 other things that are giving you the impression that you’re not playing alone. I wanted to try the Deadmines dungeon and was unable to find any decent group in over an hour, so I just gave up.
@Synrelia
dunno what s(s)f is (I’m new) but I paid for this month’s subscription and I won’t waste half of it and then wait another month so they may do something about it. For a game this big I feel like they should have the experience to act quicker. This state of hc has been getting worse over some time already tired of it. And seeing now that there are threads expressing exactly the same feeling, I believe it’s what the majority of players would want.
I also started playing SoD rn, mostly because I have less time to carefully playing, like I did on HC with the rest of the time devoted to ICC. However with ICC nerf we zoom through content faster and I am starting to miss HC while playing SoD, because sence of danger is not there. I walk past tauren skeletons in the barrens and feel no sadness about someone being eaten alive by hyenas or killed by elite Alliance patrol.
There is almost no one playing on HC at least on Nek’Rosh. Friday there was barely 110 players connected on ally side. /world /lfg have been dead for weeks. AH doesn’t have more than 5-10 stack for any profession above lvl 40 and the price are just above the sky.
If you want a full solo journey right now on WoW, just go HC.
446 people on a sunday is almost empty since it’s the day everyone play.
from 5 to 60 you have 55 level range if the level are evenly distributed you have 446/55 only 8 people for each level ? you usually play with people that are in a range of -/+3 level.
So you get a maximum of ~45 players that “can” play with you in the whole map of WoW. I barely cross anyone on the road if i’m not in a capital.
They left HC when the game was still playable to try something new, but going back after everyone left doesn’t offer the same experience.
