If you want to gain best scores there’s no single item which gives you more dmg bonus etc than world buff, it’s kinda sad Blizzard did nothing about that (as they did nothing with many things by the way). Literally people just couldn’t play their main characters, forced to sit all days on island, main cities to gather all world buffs.
Hundred of days were subordinaded to Nova World Buffs timer, people were skipping many real life things just to login right in time for that short moment to receive powerful buff.
They just could put world buffs to NPC and let people take them twice or three times a week. It’s just sad nonsense to sit around all day long like a zombie because world buff is more rewarding upgrade than any of item you can get in the game.
It’s the most stupid feature I’ve seen in my entire “MMO’s career”, I know people are playing Excels more than anything these days, and min/max is not bad and fun but I’m sad cuz in my opinion Blizzard should prevent this feature.
Literally no one has been “forced” to do that at all.
“Hundreds” of days is at the very least 200 and the game has not yet been out for 500. SO 2/5 the entire time WoW Classic has been out people have been AFK logged buff saving?? Oh I see - you just making extreme overstatements that aren’t based on any real numbers in a “persuasive” but factually incorrect post -
If it were me I would just not get world buffs and not let it bother me if it affected me so badly.
i realy liked when the outside world felt dangerous at phase2 when honor came.
i realy like the danger that world buffs gives. you have to be realy careful when picking them up.
i havent realy felt the danger in retail.
Tbh, no matter how earlier than the raid you have to do it (and that rly depends on your guild and server schedule more than your own, not to mention your real life commitments - some people have jobs after all), it’s still a stupid feature and nobody will miss it in TBC.
How can you complain as a horde rogue? You can most buffs stealthed/in your city. The only danger you face is picking SF. Just gather the other buffs the day/evening before raid day, fly felwood and pick SF free in the morning before work/school.
Come back when youve played alliance warrior getting wcb each week.
World buffs are good for world pvp and makes the world feel dangerous. I only wish wcb didnt exist or was available in a normal way for Alliance…
You don’t seem to understand what Classic is and what the main goal is:
The main goal with Classic is to not change things. To use the authentic data as is, as much as possible, and not use modern judgement to solve problems.
At this point people usually start making Straw Man argument by pointing to unrelated changes as an argument to add more changes. Don’t do that. Talk about this topic, this goal and how this topic is authentic or not. Remember that Classic is a recreation of DATA and not behaviors.
Not everyone’s life schedule allows one to always log in 40 mins before raid (especially if said raid is at 7 PM or so, factoring timezones and whatnot) - and not just for a min or two but for a ridiculous and circuitous summoning chain across cities and zones. And that’s before you consider how these wbuffs force you to actually deal from BS from your own faction (let alone the other) - I dunno about you but that’s one of the things I liked the least about the AQ event as well.
You might miss it, but most people won’t. You’re free to stay in Classic if that’s what you wish.
If your guild leaders can’t provide ony/zg buffs, they should not be mandatory.
And if you can’t play the same day before raid, why is it so awefull to fix the buffs the night before?
I’m not free to stay in classic, Blizzard haven’t said how the servers (if tbc are coming) will work.
Even if they’re not mandatory (in fact they aren’t in my guild), the feeling of gimping your DPS compared to the ppl who do get them still sucks - performance can depend on many factors (skill, gear, consumables, etc.), but I don’t think it’s fun when a large part of it depends on whether I can log on for buffs before the raid or not. And that’s before you get into the other aspects that make Wbuffs suck (the forced social interactions with complete jerks on your server, the fact you lose them for the rest of the night if you die even once, and so on).
Because that still binds your schedule a lot more so than if you could just log in whenever you feel like or when you have time - and, when it’s raid time, just go there and that’s it. You know, the way the game was supposed to be played (at least by the original developers).
Well, if you can’t, I’ll make sure to play the smallest violin for you (and yes I do hope you get to, if anything else to quell the potential drama).
