I don’t understand the reasoning behind removing a purchasable mount ? why doing this now ? why not doing it in legion with the spider mount ? is that another way to make us buy more tokens to buy it from BMAH with gold cap ? isn’t it expensive already. some people require years to gather that amount of gold.
Simple!
To push people to pay and give up all their farmed gold to buy one before its gone!
Because that is a truly useful mount, absolutely stunning and unique.
Probably something similar gonna be indtroduced in shadowlands (another ah mount maybe).
Its mostly probably about the unique mount skin which represent the xpac. Probably thats the reason. But dunno why they do this tbh.
They gonna put it into the BMAH.
Nah. The official reason is “hurr durr, we don’t want to see AH mounts everywhere after a while”. So it’s doubtful they’re adding a new one.
i have heard too that they re going to add another ah mount in shadowlands. just hope they dont remove this one. why they re removing the brutosaur is beyond me. really hate it.
False sense of urgency to get people to stay subbed farming raw gold and/or AHing, or to buy wow tokens, I bet.
yeah, something silly like that i suppose.
I’m annoyed this wasn’t announced at the start of the expansion when I actually stood a chance of getting the gold together in time.
On the one hand, not an unreasonable assumption. On the other, they never actually announced taking it away, they only confirmed it after it was datamined and someone made a fuss. They still haven’t officially announced it, there’s just 2 blue posts confirming it. Though it’s possible they are/were waiting to announce it closer to Shadowlands for the very purpose of panic tokens yes.
Ding ding ding!
Can you image the moolah they’ll rake in from those tokens in the final weeks leading up to the prepatch.
No kidding, I had well over 5m gold before I decided to take a year long ‘break’ [supposed quitting of WoW] at the start of BfA, using said gold to cap out on Battle.net
Balance to €250 buying WoW Tokens and WoW token limit on hand…
Came back to WoW last November as a pauper…
I have ALWAYS hated the concept of removing content… always, with this fake sense of time-based prestige.
Because the longboi is overrated.
Yeah, I said it!
You what? It’s a brontosaurus! Not quite an ankylosaurus, but still really cool! If anything it’s underrated.
Too cartoonish imo. Can’t stand the bright colours.
Then again, this is coming from the guy who wants to buy a token just to unlock the champion’s treadblade.
It could have a different colour, agreed. But it’s the only one we’ve got, so have to settle.
Oh and take your time getting the treadblade imo, since it’s not going anywhere. Run 3 difficulties worth of Hellfire Citadel in a day and that’s 9,9K. Do that a few times a week (yay for alts) and that 100K won’t be too harsh.
True but that’s effort.
Like the reverted mog BTW
Blizzard is trying to undo the damage done to the economy by WoD and Legion.
Gold in BfA is much harder to come by compared to the past 2 expansions, and this philosophy will likely be followed in Shadowlands. But there is still a lot of gold in people’s pockets, and this is a way to empty those pockets.
Psychological manipulation; Blizzard want to exploit fear-of-missing-out to get people to drop hundreds of dollars on WoW tokens before they miss out forever.
It’s not about taking gold out the game; all the people who had “WoD gold” bought it at BFA launch. Now it’s about pushing the people who can’t afford it into splurging on WoW tokens.
To ruin our lifes I guess. I decided I will go for the mount and it is amazing how disproportionate long it takes to earn the mount compared to any other mount. I will probably have to farm it through Freehold raw gold farming. That means I will have to clear Freehold (according to my calculations) 6.250 times. It freaking sucks. I imagine by the time I get the mount I will be sick of wow.
I would not say it is bad, even though I will never have one, I just bought Glacial Vest instead. Devs should make things like these every expansion, honestly.
