Mighty Caravan Brutosaur: Unobtainable Despite Blizzard's Claims

As players quit the game over the years, this will definitely be the case, as you said. However, I do think that for many, having this mount and other unobtainable goodies will keep them playing for forever, since they likely derive satisfaction from furthering their collection with ultra-rare items while knowing that others can’t do the same, therefore realizing their “privilege” (or status as permanently active players).

On the topic of the Unclaimed Black Market Container: I’ve seen comments suggesting that the mount can’t possibly drop from it because the last known update that was made to the container was in 8.2.5, which is the item’s most recent datamined update. The hotfix that was made in July 2021 should have updated the container to version number 9.1, and Wowhead’s database confirms that it isn’t so: https://www.wowhead.com/item=169430/unclaimed-black-market-container

Even if it does drop from the container, I’m not a great supporter of lootbox and gambling systems. Particularly since you can drop duplicates and appearances that you might not even be able to learn depending on the character that you open the container on.

Like me, sitting with an 800k Tabard of Flames in my guild bank. I keep it there to remind me to never ever fall for the BMA boxes ever again.

Yep is why I said I am not sure how true it is they got in the unclaimed box.

I’m so sorry. Lmao.

It’s a horrible system in general. Unless you do boosts 24/7 or solely play the AH for the entirety of your World of Warcraft career, nothing makes it quite worth it to buy those containers. For being designed as a gold sink, the BMAH is a very poorly thought out addition to the game, and the average player will never get to make use of it.

And whenever I think of dropping some millions on it, I reconsider almost instantly because there’s simply nothing of worth in there (apart from the elusive Brutosaur that I’m now chasing to rectify the mistake I made when I chose not to buy it in BfA).

I support you on this 100% as I’ve created my own post on this too. I was on a short break at the time they removed it with half the gold, or just over saved up for it. Then I log in to find out they removed it for no good reason at all. I felt cheated by blizzard. If they are listening to feedback like they claim they are in this new expansion, I would like this returned to the vendor for us players to obtain again.

I only hope they actually listen and show us players they are doing just that or it’ll be just a case of same old blizzard, stubborn until it costs them subs. Because I remember unsubbing for over 8 months because of that stunt and I’m still irritated when I see others on it parked outside a mail box, their natural habitat

They shouldn’t have removed it from the game in the first place.

It seriously would’ve been enough to make exalted with all BFA factions a requirement for obtaining it. Reputation grind for a decade is a price equal to 5m.

This is beyond crazy, They defo need to add it back into the game.

Its like the whole water strider again, i spent ages grinding for that water walking mount and then blizz made it so everyone can use “Mount water walking shoes”

Atleast be consistent across the board with things…

Oh don’t get me started on that too. It was a waste of time farming rep for that. But they really need to add the long boi back asap just to see if they really mean they are listening to player feedback. Or just the usually politician speak to patronise us

It would be reassuring if we could get a blue post to confirm that player feedback on this topic is heard. I am rather upset that with each passing day, there are fewer and fewer signs of this thing ever spawning on the BMAH.

A small selection of players are also using this mount to not just occasionally sell something, but to aggressively cancel and relist their items from afar, on a very frequent basis. That is too large of an advantage to have over other players, on both small and large servers.

All players should be able to work towards this mount, otherwise it just unfairly favors the minority. I truly regret not buying it when it was available.

This. I regret taking a break when they removed it. But tbh, it’s not our fault they removed it artificially, it’s on them so we shouldn’t be full of regret.

You’re right, but it’s hard to convince myself of that. :slightly_frowning_face: I feel profoundly unhappy seeing other players with this mount, knowing that I chose not to buy it when I could have because I believed that I could get it later. It’s doubly upsetting because I empathize with other players that would like it but are given no option to buy it.

There are discussions about this on the US forums as well. They’ve never really ceased on there, however the situation is similar - no blue post acknowledging the issue.

And that’s the issue I have with blizzard, the lack of care and acknowledgment of their players unless you’re upset about current day politics and other none game related “issues”

I am with you on this. I have no care at all for real-world politics invading game spaces, it seems so out of place.

However, the issue of this mount being arbitrarily removed is a bit of a politics issue itself, because it offers people that have it a clear advantage over those that don’t. We aren’t all treated equally if most of us are denied useful functions that only the few get to have.

The whole Sha and Nalak guaranteed mount drop disaster for Evokers on US servers today showcases that once again, mistakes were made. There never was any prestige attached to any mount in this game at all, particularly if they involve such a ridiculous amount of RNG to obtain or if they can simply be bought from the BMAH.

Personally, I’ve had upwards of a few thousand attempts on Sha of Anger alone, and I’m not angered that people who didn’t put in the effort received it on their first try. But I do wish, and really badly at that, that this paid game treated all customers equally.

World boss mounts, TCG mounts, the Brutosaur, there’s now incredible controversy surrounding all of these things, and these items all need to finally be made more accessible to players.

We should be using cosmetics because we like them, not because we assume they’re “prestigious”.

People on EU also got this, not just US. Check the “WoW Achievements” discord, plenty of EU people showing they got the Sha and Nalak mount as a result of this exploit.

That’s even more disappointing. At this point, I don’t think the collectible situation in this game can be made any worse. The acquisition of these items, and that still includes the Brutosaur, needs to be made fairer for everyone.

Yeah I heard about that and due to not having the new expansion due to trust issues with Blizzard (last two expansions was enough), I could not exploit it myself. Those that did exploit it will never have it taken from them nor punished though, as they care little about integrity and fairness.
