Mind Control nerfed on boats?

The boat from BB to Rachet makes it so you cannot charm any players whatsoever. Was this a recent change?

I think someone repeatedly charmed a dev or a friend of a dev into the water there so now spriests can’t have fun anymore.

Citation required. I’ve seen plenty folks being MC’d off boats.

I just tired it on the boat from BB to Rachet, targets were uncharmable in every single aspect of the journey.

Within level range? That’s a crappy change if they did do it.

What class did you try to MC and did you try more than one target?

I started hearing this rumor 3 weeks ago but it was definitely not true then, and it’s so oddly specific I have no reason to believe it now either.

Did you try it yourself? Are you sure you were not just resisted?

What level did you try to charm?

The Blizzard fun police detected players having a good time so they took action.

I tried it on two different targets, a Rogue and a Warrior. Both within the level range of the spell, which was level 44. I tried multiple times and I was returned with the error of “This target cannot be charmed” even though I could still attack these targets.

I suppose they stopped it from happening since it was just griefing, if you attack a person they at least have a fair chance of fighting back, and if you attack someone you tend to start a brawl, but MCing someone off the boat is just griefing their experience imo.

I thought it had to do with some kind of bug/glitch, not sure though

I’d understand that if it wasn’t just so easy to counter it. There are so many places to LoS, or attack back to stop them.

Edit: Biggest issue is how they’ve changed the core mechanic of classes back from Vanilla. Stuff like infernals not breaking control and attcking things around them, mind controlled people no longer being aggro’d first and instead it’s the person mind controlling who gets aggro first.

The only reason I would ever play priest for :stuck_out_tongue:

I just went to test it. It still works. Maybe they had WotF active when you tried to charm them. I was able to MC both a level 40 Shaman and a level 60 warrior.

Buffing Horde is also very funny!

In my opinion, mind controlling people off boats should be a ban reason. Its nothing but pure griefing.

Don’t play on a PvP server then
It’s no less griefing than corpse camping lol.

I think it’s unnecessarily sadistic but within the realm of reason. You can take the next boat, attack or CC preemptively, stay out of line of sight and pay attention at what they do, etc.

I find exploiting the fear bug where you get stuck in the boat considerably worse, as they force you to HS. I would say it’s purely accidental if I didn’t know some priests and warlocks are perfectly aware of it because they’ve admitted it.

or maybe we can just ban the jerk griefers so the people who play on PvP server because they enjoy fair world PvP can enjoy them. Somehow a handfull of jerks belive they can dictate what is ok on PvP Servers.
