Mirror images spawn, healer dies

Absolutely great design for a system meant to gear new players.
These heroic+ dungeons have been great! /s

Was it designed to gear new players? I don’t think “classic” has any inflow of new players. You mean new characters of existing players?

Yeah, it’s too hard for the loot reward it actually offers. I guess it’s more for people who miss a specific piece of gear to be viable for a current raid and want a daily reset instead of a weekly one.

Maybe that’s partly because of how devs have been behaving for the last decade or so

Who was it designed for then? Well geared players that they specifically had to “convince” through adding the Bag of Spoils to Daily Heroic if ran on Titan Rune? Loot suggest it’s for those that got some Pre-BiS and want a leg up into raiding. Added difficulty points to geared up players wanting challenge. Well at least prices for Abyss Crystals will stabilize.

Haven’t had a single problem. We did Oculus today, healer died on Varos within 3 seconds as he aggroed a drake. Mirror images from boss and mirror images from the drakes spawned, the other dps died.
I healed the encounter as ret for the entire duration therefore after. The whole thing is a complete and utter joke and if you struggle doing this content, well…

Mirror images has like 100hp, maybe it’s the dps’ers who ignore them and just keeps doing aoe rotation to do more dps in recount/details?

Mirrors die basically from any small hit, there is no reason for them to stay alive longer than 2s, dps should clear them fast, and in that time they will not kill your healer. Probably mirrors stayed for like 10+ secs.

You can have 9000gs, but if you don’t target mirror image - you are not killing it. GS doesn’t matter on them, only player skill to switch targets and do a single hit.

I know that it will sound like a wild idea but everyone in the party (healer included) can one shot those images even with no gear, you should try it.

Heroic + is easy. If you die, you are doing smth wrong.

How exactly are you struggling to kill the mirror images? I get that some of the affixes are tedious (Gundrak and HoL for example), but mirror images? Right click them, they die.

Your healer can kill them in an auto. There’s no reason for them to be alive long enough to deal any damage. This is a gitgud issue.

I don’t know, I’m hearing several of different stories. But I say definitely not for ‘new players’ who are joining and catching up.

You spawn 5 in a single global cooldown, it’s is inevitable the tank will take at least a few seconds of hit. The 100% HP and 30% damage make it so the constant switching can wipe a group if they’re not already wearing the gear they’re supposed to ‘catch-up’ with.

Even then, that’s conveniently forgetting the stuns and cc abilities of trash and certain boss mechanics. Rendering you unable to do anything about the extra spawns.

So you either need the gear above what the dungeon needs or have raid level coordination with a voice comp and 5/5 knowing what they’re doing.

I’m not saying it’s “hard”, but I’m saying Naxx is easier, requires less gear and has better loot. So what the idea behind them was, i’m not sure. It’s entertaining for those who don’t need the loot or carrying an alt through.

Also it further makes clear the class ‘differences’ and which of them won the wotlk last patch lottery. A warlock wearing all blues spamming damage wil have a way easier time doing heroic+ and gearing himself up than a hunter in blues.

Dungeon like Gundrak and Hol for example are much easier for DPS, because all the work is on the Tank. While mirror images put the burden on the DPS, well mostly.

Of all the affixes to moan about you choose mirror images?

If you are dying to them, you need to turn off Netflix on your second screen, and pay attention to the game. As other people said, they die in one shot.

They say more about naxx than heroic+.

Heroic+ have the difficulty I expect from a dungeon in general. I don’t think the affixes have a place in Classic but the difficulty is spot on. You should be able to fail in a game.

It is tougher. I’m just wondering what the supposed aim was, you don’t do it for loot compared to existing options and I wouldn’t call it ‘new’ player friendly.

I’d say it’s interesting if they buff the ilevel of final boss drop a bit, but only on the daily. Doesn’t have to be much, but it should feel a bit better than old naxx 10.

BS because it’s all dependent on RNG and doesn’t flow well with the dungeon itself? And then you have CoS with it’s non existing increase in difficulty - it just takes longer unless you somehow ended in a party witho no priests, Paladins or Shamans.

Do you know that you can try again if you die, right?

Are you still talking about the Nexus Affix? Give it a rest. Did it the other day and if people properly focus the mirror images it´s easy.

Wow, you mean the role that always get the free ride has to do something? So very difficult.

True. At least in those dungeons the affix primarily matches the theme and isn’t far cry from Mob’s capabilities. Though every time I have to do Oculus (and for whatever reason the game loves to throw it as daily on NK) i feel the dread as a Tank. I really hate uncontrollable situations and since many players uze their “dungeon” specs which are primarily cleave oriented it’s always a gamble whether we clear or we die.

It is not your job to kill the mirror images. You can remind the dps before you start, that it´s their main responsibility to do so. If a image spawns near you, you can kill it, but you are not required to move to africa so to speak in order to kill 1-2 of them. Let the dps do some work.

Yeah I know. As a tank I keep pressuring myself about keeping aggro. I really suck at keeping groups bigger than 4 on me (one reason why I always tank Sarth in Obsidian Sanctum 10-man since I can’t keep drakes and small adds at me all the time.) And it’s just impossible to do so against images.
