When I am dual wielding, I still regularly miss attacks with my main hand, despite being hit capped against that level type. For example right now I’m farming some level 40 elites in gear with 5% hit - that should be hitcap against level 60. And yet, main hand is missing attacks.
Does anyone know what causes this? Is it just a visual bug where your main hand appears to miss but actually it’s your offhand doing the miss?
As dual wield you can’t get to white hitcap as it’s an enormous number that will meet diminishing returns and have you lack severily in the crit department.
9% is the soft hitcap which only makes your abilities to hit for 100%. Both your main and offhand auto attacks suffer the same penalty as you are dual wielding.
How does that make any sense, so when I got my tank sword on and my shield in my left hand, its got 100% hit chance - but as soon as I switch the shield for another weapon, my sword loses its hit chance?
That doesn’t seem right to me
I thought the “dual wield miss chance” was affecting the off hand only.
So it would seem! Well i have learned something new about my class today, and now I can improve my PvE gameplay performance with this knowledge. Thank you
A little IRL off topic.
It actually makes a lot sense. Search Youtube for dual wielding and you can find many videos that show how terrible dual wielding is IRL in fight simulations You will in fact hit less with your main hand if you hold two swords. Best weapon by far is a spear and second best is sword and shield.
In-game, it also makes sense not to do twice as much damage with 2 weapons for various reasons. Dragons getting very annoyed is one of them.
