After farming this mount for hundreds of hours I got lucky last night and the reins of Anu’relos dropped for me.
After the excitement died down a bit, I clicked on the mount to learn it and was very dissapointed as I did not receive the cinder of companionship or the feather of the blazing somnowl which is dropped into your bags after learning it.
Bittersweet to say the least !
I have submitted a bug report, and opened a ticket to see if I can resolve the issue as I want my items !
Hoping someone else will stumble upon this (a G.M ) and if you have had similar problems please report it here.

I have also encountered the same issue and submitted a bug report.
Sadly despite two tickets they’ve been unable to help with getting the items.
I have the same problem, GM reply to my report :
Firstly, we would like to thank you for reporting the situation as well with our in-game bug report features.
We currently don’t have the tools to investigate and fix these situation, but rest assured, these reports go directly to the developers. When a bug is confirmed by them, a fix is planed, and is released in a future patch for all players.
However, we will not be able to provide an estimated time frame for the situation to be fixed, and we will not be able to restore any items here. Thank you for your understanding.
There ia also a thread on the U.S forums with many players reporting the same issue.
have same bug with that when i learn the mount havent got the druid form and hunter pet item
Got to love getting responses from outsourced CS who don’t have any access to CS tools, just there to read and respond to tickets typically off a script. 
According to one user on the wowhead comments section on reins of anurelos an in game GM sent him the missing items in his mailbox ?
Not sure if he is telling the truth, however I am sure they have the tools to check if you have received the mount and send the items over ?
Regardless, it looks like we aren’t getting our items any time soon …
Actual GMs doing CS are rare, but they exist. You can try your luck closing the ticket and making another. A lot of stuff they used to do are now self service, like item restoration.
Most CS now is outsourced abroad to people to work through a web browser and respond off a script, often just reading the title of a ticket and ignoring the rest.
I had a similar problem. I sent two tickets to support, both times the GM said he couldn’t help and sent me to write a bug report

same thing happen to me they said send bug report i think atleast take like 5-6 month to fix it one of my friend told me who work there
taking half a year would be crazy in 2025 xD
man after 588 attempts i finnaly got the mount… was so hyped only to notice i didnt get my rewards also… and now we prob gonna need wait months for wow to fix it

Has anyone received there items yet as it’s now been a full week since learning the mount for me and still nothing …
A blue post in support said it should be fixed now but we are many that still didnt get our items…
I believe the issue may have been fixed for those that now loot the mount from Fyrakk however for those of us who looted it first week of patch 11.1.5 we are still waiting for the cinder of companionship & feather of the somnowl to be awarded to our accounts.
Let’s hope we get a fix soon as my patience has ran out …
yes… they say theres an fix if you mount anu’relos you should get the items… but since yesterday until now i still havent recieved i mounted on alts on the one who looted tried everything fix not working… i made an ticket the gm tells me you need to mount anurelos like what he didnt even read what i said
I made another ticket too, GM said to try to kill fyrak once more and if it is not working, submit a bug report. I killed him yesterday, did not work.
Yeah i also killed Fyrakk yesterday didnt work
I wonder if anyone made it work or something? Still no items
