no class self heal less than a hunter
because they have a pet and mend pet
MM would need short cd heal to balance no pet, solo content will be miserable without pet
Which is why I always have a pet when I’m in MM, especially one with “Primal Rage” when I’m in solo content such as t10 delves.

even leveling your character and getting to end game will be terrible on MM with so little self heal and no pet

Which is why you ignore min maxing websites who are only interested in high level end content and don’t take the “Lone Wolf” talent.
Then you can take the talents which will help you self heal. If you’re not doing the basics with Exhilirate and talenting it to get the most out of it there really isn’t anything more I can say except ignore MM and go into BM and get yourself a spirit beast and macro it’s spirit heal ability to always cast it on you.
no matter what talents you take, MM self healing is very low compared to other no pet classes
Blizzard is doing that thing in a rush, this will come out in force later when people realize they heal so little and pet is not tanking for them
now people play pet in solo content, in end game group content they play without pet
Then switch to BM to solo things you find difficult…?
I had to change into a heal spec to solo Rares in Caverns in DF…

there is no way around it, with no available pet MM must get more self heal

Ive been maining Hunter since TBC and never, NEVER, had a significant recurring problem with self healing.
If you’re failing at even basic healing and making it a lot easier for yourself that’s on you.
I suggest you stick with your shaman.

No, no. There won’t be a pet with MM in the new changes. You get a bird thing instead.

You have not soloed anything in your life as a hunter then.
If you have not needed Mend pet on your pet you have not use Exhil to heal yourself because of needing to heal up you have not done solo content as hunter ever.

But yeah the reason for why Ferocity pet is the best pet to use while soloing is precisly because it heals itself with Leech so you do not need to use mend pet so much.

Oh dear. Any chance you could meet me in a T10 delve and you bring your hunter and see how long it lasts without using mend pet at least 10 times?
Oh and Brann doesn’t get to bail you out by you running over a potion and conveniently healing the pet as well as you.
But here’s a tip for free.
Go into BM, use a Spirit beast, you get Spirit mend and you get a bonus to Survival of the Fittest.

Pretty sure they’re talking about 11.1 when MM hunters are going to lose access to their pets (and gain some eagle companion). It’s a whole rework and PTR isn’t available yet so can’t say how it’s going to feel.
But, well, my opinion on the topic is that there are plenty of specs that aren’t optimal for world/solo content. All guides recommend solo leveling as a frost mage because it’s easier to kite stuff with them. Augmentation evokers feel understandably bad in solo content. MM will probably be squishy, but not impossible.
