Why are mobs running through walls, fences, trees, everything. They also seem to aggro through walls.
How can the official classic servers be worse than private servers.
Classic is doomed
If Classic was a private server, nobody would play it.
I don’t play on private servers. IMO it’s a waste of time. But if Blizz will not fix layering, pathfinding and the most important, the Hunter class as soon as possible, playing Classic will be even worse.

Even worse is when you try to LoS caster mobs by running behind a wall or a large tree, only to get hit by their spells anyway.
Walls give you los, trees don’t. Yet another thread about nothing. Trees, stones, hills and other terrain objects are not counted as obstacles outdoors and don’t break los.
Players wanted original experience, they got it even with these annoying things which were part od Vanilla wow I doubt Blizzard will focus on fixing Classic, they were pretty straightforward with no changes approach.
Don’t compare it to Vanilla private servers which had 15 years to polish the game. Official Vanilla is simply unbalanced game (class-wise) with bugs and no QoL features. But thats how it was back then so stop demanding changes, they won’t come. Blizz focuses on retail, not on Classic.

There’s alot of these in STV.
Walls as in a “building” not the “troll ruin” which is just a terrain texture not an object.
That sounds stupid but that’s how the game was designed back in 2004. It’s not an issue on some quality private servers which are WAY more accurate and “blizzlike” than classic servers.
^this. I can’t remember a vanilla private server from the last 4-5 years that was worse than Classic. The only reason I’m playing it is because it’s “the real deal” and because I’ve been asking for it for years and now I finally received it.

Hills are pure terrain - of course they are not counted as obstacles. Everything else you listed, however, should be. What’s surprising is that this comes from a 60lvl warrior. If I can’t go past it and see through it, then I shouldn’t be able to cast/shoot through it. Just yesterday I died 3 times from caster and archer mobs in Zul’Kunda, STV, that were mysteriously hitting me from I-don’t-know-where, only to realize later that it was from behind archways and trees.
I still remember when I did a WC run and tried to LoS Lord Pythas (the one that drops the mace & set chest) behind the calcified scales of that thunder lizard skeleton right before him - like I’ve always done on every private server I have ever played on - only to get zapped from him and the other Druid of the Fang who didn’t give a damn that I was behind an obstacle.
It was then when I realized Classic would be worse than private servers. You can call it “authentic” or whatever - I call it “worse than private servers”.
It only happens to me when they run away at low health.
All what you said is how it SHOULD be and how it IS on some quality private servers. I totally agree with this. But that’s not how it was in retail vanilla game and not how it is now and this hardly gonna be fixed.
Do you remember Deep Ocean - Vast Sea (citing from memory here - the one underseas with LOTS of Murlocs) from Classic? I do. This works as intended
Well, I hope it will be fixed, because for me this is not “authenticity” or “#nochanges” - it’s just a bad product.
And looting the tablet underwater in STV (The Vile Reef IIRC) is possible “through the wall” not fighting any of the elite murlocs. And that bug is here right from 2004, you can see the old comments from back then on classicdb.
So #nochanges has become #pleasesomechanges?

Are you sure? Because I’m not 100 % that some troll ruins or trees in STV blocked los. Need some footage.
If I’m not able to shoot trough the troll ruin walls, then the mobs shouldn’t either. That’s a bug.
