Moderator attention, please delete thread

You did not contradict me.

You made a passive aggressive answer too me.

There is no dialog or debate in an answer like that.

I do not reply with a well thought or polite answer to people, who clearly doesn’t want to have a dialog, but only are stirring the pot.

My examples as you put it, are made purely based on how you wrote to others.
I read the entire thread, but I did not bother to write to you because or how you act.

And you proved that you are nothing more than a simple troll - google the phochological report that was published around 5 years ago, and find yourself fascinated with all the points in that you live up to.

No you are not, read every answer you have given - this is truly a fact because I post from a tauren.

I am, and I am right now spending time writing back - I will admit, I am not bringing much thought into it, because you are not worth it.

I am sorry your english is so limited and flawed, I will of course help you.

A threat expresses the intention to hurt someone.

A threat can not damage, action towards anyone can.
There is a fine line from expressing the intention to act out the intention.

I am a tauren, and not even The Earthmother can help you.

This is the last answer I will give you.

You are not worth my energy, and I will only answer you of you ever mature enought to write decent answers.

And before you go nuts about edits, I only edit spelling and weird wordings - Just as you, I am not native english speaker, and I need to think the words through.

The fact that Kyrels post is flagged and hidden shows that people are not using the flag as intended :woman_shrugging:t3: Its not a downvote/dislike button people, its a tool to alert the moderators about posts that needs reviewing. You only clog up the system so that the real offensive posts gets to stay for days before being reviewed and removed.

I am curious too as to why that post was flagged too. Even more curious is that it seems to go against the grain of most of the reasons given here for false flagging in that it appears to agree with the majority opinion in this thread.

I have no doubt that it will be unflagged when it comes under moderator action but it is weird none the less.

I see it is again personal attacks and misuse of flagging. I have asked that the thread be deleted, which is a shame as it was a topic I wanted to raise and hear views. This is also a form of bullying when people derail the topic so that issues cannot be discussed in a reasonable manner.

I am hoping the thread will be closed very soon, but I am sure that many of you will use the time until then to continue with personal attacks.

True.

Actually I don’t think this was such an issue when we entered the new forum, I don’t know why it changed this way with the flagging.

Ah yes, this is usually how this forum works.

Some topics stir up something in people, and some users does the same.

When creating a new thread and delete it, it automatically locks the thread… Maybe it does the same if you delete the first post in this too?

I tried to delete the first thread Moothilda, but I was unable to do it. As this is the first time I have ever asked for a thread to be deleted, I am unsure of how to do it. Google answer I got was to change title as I have and wait for Moderator to close.

It’s an interesting topic and it’s quite clear that some are abusing the flag feature. I hope there are some sort of sanctions against this if its clear you are a repeat offender or mass flagging with alts.

Ah ok, they usually do repond to request in the headliner.

We just need them to wake up from their nap :yum:

No I also flagged my initial post myself, to bring it to their attention. I am hoping this works as I can’t find any other way of doing this. Seems a strange way to do it, but sadly I can’t find another way.

Can you flag the topic under topic controls? I dont think it needs to be locked though, people just need to stop attacking eachother and discuss the actual topic.

It is a strange and a lot of unnecessary work in order to delete a topic

I looked at the options given Sin, I just couldn’t find anything relevant to closing a thread. Strangely I wasn’t give the option to close the thread either. I admit I might be doing something wrong as I don’t know the procedure for closing, as I say Google gave the option of changing title and flagging. Ironic really as I have been arguing against flagging posts that do not contravene the CoC, yet I flag my own post

I dont think we can close or delete topics ourselves, which in some way is fine i guess (could probably be abused aswell to silence answers you dont like).

I agree, this is a topic we should discuss as it seem we have a forum culture that rewards a behaviour that chases more users away than it greets them.

I think I fell over a topic Twiluna about it

You started a topic that has a lot of ramifications. It’s like talking about cars, but you don’t want to talk about fuel. Both are connected so you can’t talk about one, but not about the other.
And what i wanted to prove and i successfully did (i think), was to point out the “ramifications” of your topic:

  1. MVP’s and “liked and respected posters” can influence the the abuse of flagging system or damage the “forum harmony”
  2. Example of how a post/comment or user can be flagged/muted just because he disagrees with the “others” that follows the “same mentality”
  3. How “imaginary forum friendships” can make users ignore logic and facts and “attack” others just because they disagree with their “imaginary friend” (Daestra example)
  4. How some users can persist in their stupidity and arrogance, even when they are wrong, just because they can or because they have a bit of “fame” and are backed up by others
    …and so on.

You knew where this topic can lead, because you chosed a topic which could lead to “toxicity” and you knew that the chance for that to happen is very, very high. And now you want to cancel everything you started. It’s a bit ironical?

Why did you call forum friendships imaginary? Everyone loves me because I am 500IQ and super charismatic person and that is a fact.

You do not know me Yeha, but this says it all. I do not consider myself to have ‘forum friends’ I am a poster the same as others. But yes I did think that the topic was an issue and I also expected some negative response as well as positive. What I didn’t expect was that it would devolve into forum pvp to such a scale as it has. Maybe I am naive to expect more, but we can’t change our nature.

Because i don’t know nothing about you and you don’t know nothing about me. Because there can’t be a real friendship between us. Simple as that.

That i can’t never disagree.

Google page:
What is the meaning of word forum?
Answer:
A meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged.

Ideas and views can’t be exchanged only by everyone agreeing on the topic. Always there is someone who will come with another idea and the others needs to contradict him…and so on…and so on…every time the concept repeats itself.
Democracy was build on debates and contradictions. As i said before, if there is nobody to challenge or dispute a fact/topic/person, then that is no democracy anymore, it’s a dictatorship. People need to attack each-other and point the mistakes or bad things they did.
Look for example in the UK’s parliament (or any other country parliament): every day the opposition is attacking the prime minister with attacks to point out what a bad leader he is. That’s their job actually. And obviously, to point out mistakes better, they need to do “personal attacks” , they need to be a bit rude but to a limit, etc. What should Boris do when they attack him that he took ellection donations or bribe? Quit his job and go home? No…he needs to reply and come with a counter-argument.
In my point of view, this topic went very well. Yes, there where personal attacks, there where a bit of rudeness but on a “acceptable level”, there was a dispute.
This is how a democracy must work.
Sadly, some of us don’t understand this concept and they use this new “woke” trend, where everything can be interpreted at a intimate personal level and love to make drama out of it.
And to give a good example also, i liked Punnyelf’s replies: she defended her position/point of view without going towards drama. Although i “attacked” her quite “ferociously” i can say, she kept her “back straight” and didn’t derailed to dramas like : “you don’t worth my time”.
How would be if a reporter ask’s Boris how is the situation of the NHS now during Corona and he would reply : “you don’t worth my time” ?
You understand the idea?
I hope, with this reply, that you can understand my mentality. In reality, if we would be friends, you would love me (as a friend, not something else).

My apologies, you’re both absolutely right.
