But they seem to be appealing to a lower number of people than ever before, in their quest to appeal to as many people as possible. There is no shame in admitting, they took a wrong turn somewhere. They can still change.
Come on man. What are you talking about. This is a post about gfx design. Sometimes it seems as if Blizzard is paying some people to post stuff on the forum to redicule any sensible argument. Maybe hidden staff? If they tomorrow announce an xpack that only shows their logo on the screen floating around, these people would still be screaming " Great stuff! " … It’s a shame that there is always people rediculing any sensible argument for a decent conversation about a topic for improvement, basically hijacking the topic.
I don’t agree with that assessment. I mean; yeah they messed up with several expansions in a row now; alienating many people. But I don’t think that was a case of ‘trying to appeal to certain players’. Imo that was just bad game design; they did things that weren’t liked by most people.
They DID change. But now that there’s no mandatory grinds and borrowed power systems, instead there’s a subsection of the playerbase that’s complaining about the themes and story. There’s never going to be a time where everyone is going to be happy. WoW’s playerbase is simply too diverse for that.
The best they (and we) can hope for is that ‘the majority of players’ is happy with ‘the majority of an expansion’s features’.
