Mogu, the Rajani and Allied Races

I think that’s only semi on topic but if you just tried to go straight to the Vale then you need to go back and do the questline for your cloak first, you’ll unlock the content on the way

I don’t have any other quest except this one. I done it with main all was ok but with alt nothing. Will make topic, thanks! Sorry on spam :upside_down_face:

everyday, we stray further from pc ogres

That’s really cool dude, but the point of those “lazy recolours” is that they require less time to implement, which is why we got 10 races in one expansion. And yea, you may not see those as full-fledged races… but again, Blizzard would probably agree. That’s why they’re formally considered main races, but have a separate distinction as allied races. And again, that’s why we got ten of them.

Also, a reminder that a “customization options” as their own race is, in fact, not necessarily a bad thing. That means those “customization options” get unique racials and racial armor sets, among other things.

I totally get you, but I simply don’t agree there’s necessarily a problem. We may still get more main races later down the road (BfA is just one xpac, remember?). For now, we have 10 allied races, some “lazy recolours” and some quite close to full-fledged main races - allied races as a distinctive category with its reskin MO will mean there will always be an opportunity to make races which are simply not popular enough to implement as main races playable. Funny that you mention saurok actually, since those 1. use the worgen model 2. are quite unpopular and would never be considered as a main race. But I guess you don’t want any “lazy recolours”. Oops.

To the person who mention Arakkoa.

YES PLEASE! I have legit been waiting for those to be somewhat playable. Their lore is amazing. I would main an Arakkoa in a heartbeat if they became playable.

Weirdly I’d rather play the cursed Arakkoa but I’d like both . . . . .

Yes… Cursed Arakkoa of Outland MU have even bigger lore. And you lose no lore from AU draenor aside from that high arakkoa capital exploders there :frowning:

First thing first i must say that i totally want the mogu to be playable i do loooooove them since MoP and Lei Shen is my vavorite char in wow lore

I must also say that i did make several thread and push to have the mogu playable i can link them here :

https://eu.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/mogu-allied-race-possibility/86924

https://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/2509530-Mogu-Allied-Race-Possibility

https://classic.wowhead.com/forums&topic=295140&p=4381226

As you can see on thoses threads ppl dont take me really seriously i guess it was too soon but now with patch and Rajani on the tabble what i predicted is happenning ppl are seeing the truth finally =p

I did made and pointed out the exact same point you made that first why blizzard pout a friendly mogu facion when nothing forced them to do so and with female mogu even if we already knew female mogu was totally a thing with Queen Monara in ToT or the item known as necklace of the mogu empress

Foor the faciton i would love to see them in the horde over the alliance for multiple reasons :

1: Horde definitly need a titan related race and when i mean titan related i mean that are aware they are and actually care about it because yeah orcs are related to titans but in no way directly unlike dwarves or gnomes and i feel really annoying and silly to have Bran or Magni which are for both alliance characters carrying us around titan facilities always i would like if horde had something horde to do the same

2: Mogu in generale have more link with the zandalari and with the horde and ok you can say that the Rajani were helped by both faction and have othing to do with the mogu that allied with zandalari but i would point out that blizzard always make race joining side because of inks they had like for exemple the lf draenai even thought helped by both faciton joined the alliance or the mechagnomes you eally didnt have quesiton that maybe they will join horde no they just go alliance because they are just more related to them and overall mogu are an horde race in their way of working like they say “the mogu way” in an interview which ment that you kill all your rivals to reach the power like the orcs did to be warchief

3: Alliance already have 2 races using the draenai skeleton and i would see more likly that they put mogu in horde for them to have that skeleton aswell

4: If not horde they might just be neutral like the pandarens were

But yes plz give me my mogu!

And myself i really love the vrykuls but when ppl come and say “heee mogu in alliance” i dont know i mean mogu for me just sound more liek for the horde when vrykuls sound for alliance since they are more related to the humans and would give a verry hordy race to alliance so yeah i do love vrykuls but even if i love them i know that they will go alliance i dont try to bring up like “ho lets vyrkul go horde because me wana play them in horde” =p

EDIT : One important point im really hoping for thought is that they really polish them and update them they actually have lot of custimizaiton possible for mogu as male or female i mean you have that really cool subol on back of head for female and cool horns for male like iron qon and you can have cool lightning tatoos like iron qon again but yeah they really need to make them look better especially the female which look rought i just hope we wont have like with NB =(

I always considered the following to be added both as new races and allied races.

The idea of ‘‘Allied Races’’ wasn’t current model of opposite faction but races we already kinda have within the Horde/Alliance brought in more officially into the war.

Horde - Alliance.

Hozen - Jinyu

Taunka - Frostborn Dwarves?

And then those we did get also are good examples taken in.

What other races I would love to see are.

Ogre - Vrykul

Saberon - Arraoka

As for Mogu either they join the Horde which suits their ideology quite well or we could get two different clans of Mogu which both joins one faction each similar to the Pandaren.

Don’t do it Moburon. Don’t hype my former Arakkoa obsession which is very visible in my name and guild tag.

These two races felt like such obvious choices. Even if the Hozen are pretty much just one big feces joke, I still have this everburning love for them. Though, next to the Pandaren, they work really well as comic relief. I loved that about the dynamic between Emperor Shaohao and the Monkey King. The tranquil Pandaren and the carefree Hozen. That dynamic is just so good! And that’s not to say there isn’t potential for deeper development even for such a goofy race to show a deeper side.

I for one would immediately want to form a Hozen monk school who would obviously master the erratic and hard to read Monkey style and rock up into martial arts gatherings to add some life to the proceedings.

Same with the Jinyu, though in my mind they always immediately slot into literal Avatar: The Last Airbender style Waterbenders. I just CAN’T not make that connection.

These two are the races that I want the most. Well… Close second behind ogres, but the amount of possibilities they would open for Pandaria is just too much to think about without just getting sad that they aren’t already available.

I personally hope they’ll stay away from making meme races like Hozen and Murlocs playable. You’re right that hozen are basically just one big feces joke unfortunately.

But, i think ppl are going off topic for sometimes here no? We are here to tak about mogu as an ar/playable not really about araoa or anything els or what you wouldl ike as future ar =p

As for Hozen well its a bit silly but Hozen only live 30y which is strange if you wana make one playable and will die of old age 3 expac later

It’s been less than ten years in game since vanilla. We started in year 25. Currently in year 33.

Unless they decide to do a timeskip*, a character ageing to death isn’t going to be a concern.

*frankly feels overdue.

More than likely maturing of the Hozen is similar to that of a regular ape IRL if they share a similar lifespan. So by like 10… they’re adults.

On one hand, I’d love the world feeling fresh again. On the other, I’d lose a bunch of characters I don’t want to lose. :frowning:

I would love for it to be that we get stuck in The Shadowlands like, Lorewise completely cut off and time flows differently leading Azeroth to have aged several decades or so.

However, whenever a rift is connected in Warcraft lore, it means the cycle of time is too sadly. IE - Argus and Azeroth suddenly being in the same space meant Argus followed Azeroth’s time rules.

Well, it was more a joke than if i said it like seriouys thing but i mean do you imagine if your hozen would be born around year 0 he would be aready dead when he would only know the orcs openning portal and stuff as his oldest thing =p

Imagine not wanting to play a skeksis
