When I first created my Paladin the only race available was Blood Elf and to me that’s probably what she’ll always be. I have one of every race paladin but I will probably always main this as a female belf.
I’m not surprised that Elves on the whole are so popular on both factions.
Makes me wonder if night elf/blood elf being high in popularity has any correlation to Paladin/Hunter also being high.
So druid has taken over paladins #2 spot with night elfs being most popular druids and hunters and blood elfs being the most popular paladins. They’re also the only 2 races that can be DH which is another popular class.
I imagine there also a huge bump for night elves due to their racials being extremely good for high end content.
Unsurprising. Hopefully the development team start prioritising conventionally attractive playable races moving forward instead of pushing exceedingly niche options that consistently prove to have very low player engagement.
That being said, I suspect Blood Elves having strong ties to many of the iconic events in the setting gives them quite a boost, too. Especially on role-playing servers.
if i recall correctly. One of the big reasons why the playerbase skewed in the favor of horde was because of blood elves. Will never quite understand the appeal, the only elf character i have is my DH wich has to be one x)
Wow seeing taurens so high up there is suprising. Only theory i have is because of the limited selection of “good” looking horde races for druid so i guess most stick to tauren or just let their druid stay the race it was created as.
If you wanted a horde paladin back in tbc, there was no choice.
In vanilla I started as a human pala, then swapped to hoard with some friends and went to an undead priest. In tbc with palas available to hoard I swapped to a belf pala.
I like their aesthetics so now split my time between that pala and a belf priest.
Most definetly. Could have helped their use too I guess, as excisiting players of said races(e.g. dwarves) would have used the customization options more often. The intro quests to the “allied races” etc. could still have been in, but oh well… I love my dwarf, but yet to level a dark iron one.
I have a bunch of BM hunters, all different races. My first one from MoP was/is a dwarven lady. Same with priests, all kinds of flavours. I had a nelf phase during DF, my monk is a nelf too. I don’t know, it’s usually whatever I feel like, and I think many races in WoW are pretty cool! Love the variety.
