You just gotta get your head down and smash through it. There is a reason people buy boosts, it is because leveling in Vanilla/Classic is so bad. More often than not you run out of quests and are forced to just grind mobs. Having played this game for a long time, the one thing they did improve on in retail is the leveling, it does get a bit better in TBC, but not by much.
what’s not to love? especially after the guild I started raiding with! me and 30 other guys worked real hard across 8 weeks to gear up the officers and GM through loot council and then the guild fell apart and I never saw any of them again…
I can’t write my PhD even tho i want
The question’s as old as the humankind itself. What’s “want”, and why can’t we just do what we “want”…?
I wanted to see the end game and level as many classes as possible. I never thought of motivation at the beginning I enjoyed seeing the old quests. My first batch: Warrior, Rogue, warlock.
For the second batch of alters my motivation was I needed gold as prices went over the thousands. Second batch: Mage, Hunter.
My third one at the moment is: Shaman, druid, priest.
That doesn’t happen if you quest in multiple zones at once, and as in my case avoid orange quests. I pretty much always did quests when they were yellow. Always had too many and never ran out.
Leveling with friends.
If you have no friends: audio books and podcasts.
A little update on the leveling.
I’m now level 50 which i thought i would never achieve and I’m so happy right now for achieving it!
Thank you all for the tips and tricks for the motivation. I got burned out but started getting a bit back into it again.
The final push to 60 begins now!
I set myself secondary goals while leveling, like grinding X amount of gold, get professions up or get AB & WSG factions to friendly or honored on low levels, getting pvp rank6+ etc…
I mostly “leveled” while I had my mind set on maximising gold income & max out engineering and grabbing pvp faction honored while getting rank7 before lvl 60.
Took a while to level for me (about 15 days /played) but when I dinged lvl 60 I had 3k gold, AV exalted, WSG & AB at honored and I was pvp rank 8.
which basically allowed me to grind out up to pvp rank12 straight away after dinging 60 since I had enough money to buy decent PvP BoEs epic mount and also enough gold left so I wouldn’t need to grind gold for a while.
I thought to myself “TBC is inevitable and I don’t want to be left behind, so I had better level all the classes I want to play now.”
I then proceeded to compile a playlist of audiobooks and podcasts to keep me interested, levels 1-20 was Every Frame a Pause, 20-25 was Jurassic Park, 25-30 was the Aliens book series and 30-40 so far has been a mix of Jurassic Park: The Lost World and The Dresden Files.
