So i still haven’t gotten my main character to 60 even after 1 year because of the lack of motivation. My character is a level 45 (almost 46) mage and i can’t seem to find my self to level him to 60 even tho i want.
What did you guys do to motivate your self to level from 1-60 when you got tired of leveling?
I need some tips because i want to experience the feeling of getting to 60. Hope everyone is having a great day and thank you for taking your time to read!

Just use your rested xp and when it is depleted come back later for more rested xp. It will be easier after 50 because you will be closer to your goal.

In WoW I’ve always found the journey to be the destination. I enjoy it in its entirety. As I’ve gotten older i play most games like that. I know il finish them anyway so I might aswell take my time, get my moneys worth and enjoy it. but if I did get burned out/ lose motivation; I’d simply go do something else instead lol

I just enjoy the leveling.
It’s not the destination that matters, it’s the journey ahead.
I always go on an adventure.

level 2 or 3 characters at the same time and cycle through rested periods. selecting complimentary professions is also useful particularly an alchemist/herlbalist for leveling consumables in addition to an enchanter for having your own enchantment materials to hand.

I have my own challenge to have characters with all professions and different classes, which I level at the same time .First to level 10 then to 15 then 25, 30 and so on .Then I send each other better weapons and what I can make and collect .Challenge is that I should use AH as little as possible.
Playing and switching with different classes is also more entertaining. When you are tired of a character, you can play with another and with different tactics.

I just play the game it’s just like walking one step in front of the other doing some quests here and there or grinding some mobs and when I see the exp bar going up and when I gain a level that motivate me even if I don’t spend hours a day doing it if I do a little bit here and there then I feel progress.
Sometimes if I really can’t be bothered I’ll just tell myself just gain a level then log off or I’ll decide to try grind out a rare item from a mob or a specific item. A lot of times I won’t even think about it as leveling I’ll just stick some music on and kill some mobs and completely ignore or turn off the exp bar.

Maybe the game isnt for you…?
I mean, as a mage you can even solo ZF for leveling high speed (search videos on youtube).

Good point. I think if someone has to force themself to play a game; why play it? I get the whole ‘End-game is where the game gets good’, but still if you really detest leveling (where it’s taken over a year to get to level 45) then I doubt end-game is going to be all that good for you, OP.

Yeah, It may be the problem.
I just get so jealous and exited when i see other people raiding and are doing world pvp. Idk what to do, I should probably just stick to retail and wait untill Shadowlands releases so i can log on and actually have fun.
Thank you all for the responses btw, hope everyone is having a great day/night wherever you’re from
.
I usually quit when I get that burnt out, and come back when I feel the itch again.
Same here .I like survival, sandbox adventure games too.
WoW Classic is the only MMORPG I like and play.
Right now I’m going back to Galactic Survival to play SP and build on creative mode, because I have less time. Then I’ll be back again.
7DTD was also my favorite game but devs made changes that I really do not like .It was really sad that they have changed a good game to just smash zombie for xp.
Differentiate what you are doing. If you aren’t in a rush you can check and level up professions, you can explore zones or try to get a grip over the lore of the zones you are leveling.
I find Level 40+ to be where it gets more fun, if I get that far. You get your level 40 talents, most of your class abilities, mount. Your chosen spec starts to feel complete.
20-39 is where my interest starts to wane, especially as Horde. I don’t know how many more times I can do the Barrens…

For me i started as a druid, got to level 35ish and had struggled to find the motivation to continue, then I made a lock and got that into the 50s, then made a mage which got to level 20 and stopped that one. Then I re discovered how much I like the lock and got him to 60, now the lock and mage are both 60 and im back to leveling the druid (42 now)
Sometimes things dry up and the class you thought you liked just isn’t right for you at that time. Give something else a go and you might find you enjoy that more and you then find the motivation.
Worth giving something else a go and potentially just use the mage for farming gold in ZF GY when you learn it

Well, that’s your motivation, raiding gearing etc.
You just need to get on with it. But seriously…if you’re finding it that difficult, maybe Classic isn’t for you?
Otherwise, if you are still determined to carry on, do so, but not in a way that forces you to play as much that you end up disliking it.
You could set yourself a target… like gain 1 level per week. This isn’t hard to do throughout a whole week so it’s not like you should feel under pressure. And then in 15 weeks you’ll get to 60.
To be honest though, once you hit 50, you’ll feel a big surge to steamroll to 60 as you’ll know that you’re almost there.

I will do that, that’s a very good advice.
Not only that but i want to thank everyone else here for sharing your advice and what you did to keep on leveling.
Thank you all

When i am leveling i do it pretty efficiently since i know all the routes and quests. But when i feel its getting tedious, i grab a group to a level appropiate dungeon to spice it up a bit. Probably level up in there to then go back out with a new loot and maybe some new spells from trainer. Wich makes the mobs easier. Also dont buy to many items from AH. But when you do, buy one that is one or two levels higher to have a carrot to look forward to. A side goal to keep the focus from only leveling to 60. The 40-50 leveling is probably the slowest part imo. I get the feeling that it picks up again at 50-52.

This is what I did. Honestly though, I don’t love the level 60 game. I was raiding with my (really amazing) guild for a couple of months but after that I realised that I’ve never actually been a raider and I don’t have the nostalgic feelings of raiding and I just don’t love the raiding. I started making other characters and just do levelling and stuff now, instead. In classic, levelling isn’t levelling like it is on the modern iteration of the game - levelling is another feature to do in the game instead. In modern game there’s transmog hunting, dungeons, raids, pet battles etc, in classic there’s raiding, levelling, collecting of stuff etc. I love levelling and I like running low lvl dungeons on my lvl 60 so if that’s something you like, you can do that. But if you fall in love with raiding then you’re sorted!
