Mouse gone nuts

Anyone had this happen? Right mouse button fires off 3-5 more times, makes looking around and moving impossible… just started for no reason. Never had this in my life.

Tried mspaint, same issue. Either my mouse is just dying which I doubt after being only a few years old quality made, or I hit some hidden windows control combo that triggered some “randomly make right click fire off multiple times” options… which I doubt exists. Anyone got a clue or how to better troubleshoot this?

What kind of mouse is it?
Does it come with any software?
Does the software allow you to create macros?
Are your drivers up to date?
Have you cleaned under the mouse buttons?

Gonna guess a logitech mouse. Well known issue with those.

Logitech g402, no software installed running it cold, works fine.
I think it really is the button that gave up. I tried lifting and stretching it up a bit and it works for a moment then sags back down on the trigger and spams it. Weak plastic that doesn’t return properly. No way to fix it. Great planned obsolescence example. All I’d need was a way to remove and replace the button part of the shell to get new stiff action.

Checked the spare parts on ebay, palm rest shell is €15 + 5 shipping.
Btw the rubber sides are trash, the grip disolves like a pen eraser over one summer of slightly salty palm sweat.
Would be half the price of a new one, but without cracking it open and accidentially breaking something else so thanks for the help but I just bend the knee and buy a new one tomorrow.

Why can’t someone make a decent solid mouse, for big hands, that collects no gunk and resists moisture, has no rubber parts all highly durable plastic…
Anyone want a billion dollar business idea, there it is. Start making those.

Lmfao… I looked for a how to open it videos and this swiss cheese popped up,
“weight reduction mod”, dude drilled literal holes into the g402 to make it lighter XD some next level sh**

Sounds like your mouse is dying, it’s hardly a ‘WoW’ issue if it’s happening in programs like ‘mspaint’ like you mentioned.
Do you have a spare mouse to plug in and try with?

I have big hands and use a Razer deathadder elite. Had it for 2 years now without any issues.

I have an old Logitech mx1000 and on certain surfaces the mouse pointer does a little dance on the screen, even when I am not touching it. I am currently using a Trust mouse GTX 155. I have replaced it as the stem that presses the button wore down but that took 4 years. It has 5 side buttons and a triple fire button.

Bruh. Check your handbrag.
The deathadder is the same (0,1cm slimmer actually) width as the G402.
When I said big hands I mean look at your mouse from the top. That’s 7cm across to rest my index and middle finger. Half my hand is hanging in the air…

I need another 5cm to rest my ring finger and pinky in a relaxed position. Every mouse on the market makes those fingers cramp and grip onto the mouse because they are almost half the size they should be. Even the “best mice for big hands” are pathetic. Still not broad enough.

The ergonomic ones are closer in size, but they all have that tilted awkward design, like holding a giant pen. All I want is for someone to take a normal gaming mouse, make it 1-2cm broader, or wider, and just shape the side downhill to give the ring finger and pinky a nice low slope to rest on so I don’t have to grip it with a semi-spock-salute fingers crossed…

Someone do it. Now. What you don’t have $50 mill to make your own gaming mouse company?!

This is the mouse I use, notice the raised area for your ring finger. I have large hands too and long fingers.

lol “handbrag”… Well, I didn’t find a bigger mouse so that’s what I use. It works fine even if it’s basically just my fingers that rest on it. A GXT mouse might be a better fit. At least they have wider ones.

Yeah - when my RMB developed an intermittent fault. Sounds like you have a dodgy switch on the RMB.
