Multiboxing in Shadowlands: Possible disaster?

If nothing changes regarding multi-boxing in Shadowlands the mat’s economy will go into the drain in just first few weeks and farming/gold making via professions based on herb’s and ore will give people horrible experience.

Since flying will not be there for atleast a year, it wont be horrible i think.

Atleast before flying on bfa, i didnt find myself short of herbs/ores at all.

You still will be able to ride and loot on 10 acc at once so yeah GL with it

It won’t change its someone paying for X accounts and running separate instances of the launcher

Mats might go down the drain, but selling vessels for the legendaries at the start will make a lot of LW, Blacksmiths, Tailors and Jewelcrafters filthy rich.

Multi-boxing has been here since Classic. Why would it suddenly be a problem?

True, but still slower than flying.

Multiboxing was the fun source of the very few rich people. Ever since token and multi-tapping nodes added, many players feel frustrated, that 10 druid caravans basically swoop the fields, and leave no herbs/ores for others.

Did you miss the trains of bots running rampant in Suramar for Starlight Roses when flying wasn’t enabled?

Multiboxers have grossly abused the multi-tap function of nodes. Blizzard seriously needs to make resource nodes Personal!

i.e. - Your character only sees a node that’s active, others don’t see it being active… it’s random, so a MB’er can’t all go to the same node.

There is nothing to stop them multi box farming mounted on ground mounts.

Obviously not, i just compared bfa material farming before and after flying.

And my experience was that i found many more herbs before flying.

i have energeering maxed i have antigavity stuff it meens i can hower in air float in air even in nofly zones as ilands and silvermoon even in Shadowlands imeditly when it get relized

It got worse this patch because of nazj mats being needed but the zone outdated. The majority of people on a shard (which didnt have many people per shard due to problems) were there farming. So average joe farmer would usually have multiple multiboxers on his shard. Combine that with it being the only place you could get zin that was needed for all the pots, flasks and even trinkets that were selling well…

It’ll be better in bigger zones with more players.

In my opinion there’s no difference between multiboxing and botting. Especially in farming - one is increasing your performance tenfold while you’re away from the PC, and the other increases your performance tenfold while you’re on the PC. The differences are semantics. So I don’t get why Blizz would allow multiboxing for years, but not botting.

Korean MMOs close their eyes to bots, and some even implement the bots into the game, because botting boosts engagement statistics, which to Blizz is just as valuable as money.

Multiboxing is increasing you preformance tenfold, botting is increasing your preformance from nothing to an almost infinite number. Your assuming the botter only has 10 accounts, multiboxers are limited to 10 accounts, bots can farm as many server/shards as they want.

I understand the gripe, but for example I can’t remember a single time I came to pick a node directly after someone else. It’s usually too late, so the node is already despawned anyways.

Yeah, but I think once you reach 10 or 1000 times better performance, it doesn’t really matter. Either way, both are benefiting from an advantage that isn’t available to average players. Multiboxing is pay2win, there’s no argument here.

Many multiboxers use third party software to translate their inputs from one instance of WoW to the others, which means they’re not directly controling 90% of their instances and that’s against Blizz’s policies.

Why can’t we have all multiboxers phase to a multiboxers realm? Surely there’s a way for it to happen. If they’re here to stay let’s at least be able to make a some sort of compromise. Average players don’t want them around so stick them somewhere we arnt.
