I just saw someone controling 3 characters at the same time and obviously he is using some sort of bot or something because he was doing it pretty smooth. is this reportable ?
No it is not reportable. Multiboxing is not against the rules in the World of Warcraft.
even if bot envolved ?
IF a bot was involved, the bot would be against the rules, not the multiboxing.
Botting is different from Multiboxing.
If a person is in control and the keystrokes they are doing are duplicated onto the other accounts it is permitted. This can be done via scripts or software.
Botting is just a programme with no lead character where they all move around in the World of Warcraft with no human interaction. (Edit to add botting is against the ToS)
Multiboxing is perfectly fine according to Blizzard as long as there is an actual person controlling the group.
Botting is not.
The two are NOT the same.
alright so it is report able since he uses bot . ty
And you see this how? Because it’s “smooth”? Why shouldn’t it be smooth?
Reading your original post, it still sounds like he is just using multi-boxing software, not a bot - but its impossible for us to tell without actually seeing it
If you think he is using a bot to multibox, report it. Blizzard will investigate (eventually, or if he gets further reports) and determine whether he is actually using a bot or not. If he is not, nothing will happen. If he is, he’ll suffer the consequences.
On a side note, I know multi-boxing is consider acceptable… But there ain’t nothing more tilting than being caught by 3/4 Warlocks multi-boxing. 9-12 dots in three seconds flat… Oof.
Ooh boii, you must be a pro since you can eyeball someone in-game and see that there hacking because ‘it is so smooth’.
Ofc it will look smooth, he’s running the game multiple times on one computer and controlling the characters with 1 input device. So keystrokes are ‘instant’ for all characters, making it appear so smooth.
There was/is a guy who multiboxes 40 characters at once on retail. If they dont ban this guy, they wont ban anyone multiboxing.
That’s some skill right there. Damn. Whole army
Multiboxing is not reportable. Using software to multibox is NOT botting.
If there was one ahead of the other 2 then this is boxing (to test right click any player and select follow… there is a set follow distance)… when they bot they move on top of each other and it’s very jerky.
Source - I am a boxer for 12 years.
When somone is boxing multiple chars (same class) do they keybind spells to same keybind? (press 1 to cast x amount of fireballs)
Each character has one ability in each slot, we can box mixed classes.
Some use gnome sequencer and have castsequence macros
The main rule is 1 keypress = one action… I never break this rule.
I wonder how many times you’ve had to link this Puny haha
This guy for example is a big multiboxer
I think boxing should be banned in any pvp situation, and not allowed on pvp servers.
