You can mute everything with CTRL+S.

Not even available in retail, so might be hard 
There is a way to alter sounds at the moment, you add a series of nested folders and a new sample, which can be silent, in your Warcraft folder. I do it for gun sounds.
Would be really nice to be able to muffle that barking noice many wands do.
That can drive even the strongest minds mad.
