My biggest problem with WOTLK (PvP realms)

So my biggest problem with WOTLK classic is that PvP realms do not exists.
What is the meaning of a PVP realm? Anyone can join BGs or Arenas from a pve realm too, but on a PvP realm you should meet people from the oposite faction and kill each other anywhere.
I wrote a simular topic shortly afte Wrath classic launch, and now there is S3… and still no solution. They could make clusters like on Classic era realms or cross realm WorldPvP with oposite faction dominated realms or anything.
And before someone starts saying that the campers would come and how bad it would be, if you don’t like it, there are the PVE realms for you.
Currently what is the difference between pvp and pve realms? Nothing.
I know there is a singe US and EU realm where there are still some lives in both factions, but neither has many players. Never had many people on them because who started on the big popular realms like golemagg, they styed there, exept the alliance after the ratios have slipped badly.
But why should i support them with another 25 EU for realm transfer if they cannot solve problems like this?
There is a free realm transfer to Hydraxian?? Come on… like 100 ppl playingon that realm.
For me PvP is not only about running some BGs and Arenas then afk in dalaran and flex in my shiny gear… I would like to meet ppl anywhere in the world, i would like to hunt down the campers who killed my alt and make good old world pvps in STV or Helfire…
But it seems like Blizzard do not care about true ‘‘classic experience’’…

Wotlk was the first true raidlog addon without reasons to actually do anything in the open world, so there was no world pvp to begin with. If you are looking for that, go to era.

The majority of the player base does not care or want to participate in world PvP, People were forced to WPvP in phase 2 of Classic and once BGs came out everyone went there.
World bosses were limited to the top 2-3 guilds on each realm that had 20 warlocks ready to summon 80 people at 5 in the morning.

When realms started losing numbers in TBC and it was getting harder and harder to find dungeons and heroics and raids(PvE), people decided it would be better if the majority were on the same realm.
Blizzard tried locking realms but people rather wait in queues and postpone their raids than play on a low-population realm.

The monorealm is a player-made problem.

All the pve’ers somehow wanted to play on a pvp realm, for reasons i dont understand.
And we all know the majority of the playerbase is pve’ers.

I do think, however, that blizzard could have had a bit more hands-on approach to it. But its still a problem made entirely of bad player decisions.

So, you trying to tell me that it is normal on a 19k pop realm to see 0 enemy anywhere? To meet 0 enemy when lvling with an alt character or doing anything.
Blizzard always talking about ‘‘classic experience’’ let me tell you something it is not classic experience it is a joke.
I belive many fashion players playing for the reasons you mantioned, to make raidlogs. But they are all idiots, trying to be ‘‘the big guys’’ in a 15 years old expansion with long known minmaxings tricks and raid mechanics.
No this whole thing is a joke, they dont even trying to enjoy the game or feel the true ‘classic experience’’ they just rushing and making raidlogs. This is not what the classic should be about, but unfortunately it became this because of the idiots.
Wotlk wasn’t about raid logging, maybe todays stupid community thinks it is, but back than the world was full with players.

Yeah, as long as we live in our own small delusion, wotlk was exactly like that. In reality, everyone was semi afk in dalaran/orgrimmar. Please enlighten me, what exactly do you think people were doing in the open world at lvl 80?

Yes it is a palyer-made problem. The source of the problem is the many fashion players. Classic era realms are a good example, after the first round of classic ended the clowns who were there only because of the hype left, then the community was better.
I hope the same will happen on some premanent wotlk realms after the clowns go to push logs in cata.
People don’t even want to play this game, they just want the log numbers and to be able to afkol in dala or og in ctf gear, as if anyone cares what they have. The truth is no one give a **** about it xDD.
This community is ridiculous, i saw a perfect example on HC classic… PPL looking for BOOSTs… Come on… what is the purpose of HC classic? Better question is why someone playing HC classic if want to buy a boost? Aswer is he is a clown, fashion/hype player.

Sadly Blizzard is no longer ‘‘BLIZZLIKE’’, more like ‘‘ACTIVISION’s profitLIKE’’, if you understand what am i talking about.

I dont want something big. I just want a pvp server with acceptable number of players, and with 50/50% pop. I dont like the changes they made but i can accept it, if they make other things right.

if we can get such a wotlk realm from them, I would like to play there for years, maxing out several characters.
But this will not happen here, we will get it on private servers operated by 2-3 people, becouse these ppl loves this game. Wait this already exists. There are problems there too, but when im counting the pros and cons there are more cons here on classic wotlk for me. I’m currently leveling on such a server with a 0.5% xp rate next to classic era.

Most people don’t want wPvP, servers are currently monofaction because the playerbase wanted it, not Blizzard.

I have an idea, i will make a character on a different faction dominated pvp realm and i will camp every clown everywhere 0/24.

Many people want a PVP server with the opposite faction. But there is no way they can balance it without Blizzard’s help because there are too many pure PVE players on PVP servers, and they will run away on a different server every time they see an enemy faction, creating a huge imbalance that is unplayable for the rest. Without enemies, it is half the game. I originally started on WOTLK, and I remember to this day that there were many skirmishes everywhere. If you are doing QST or gathering, Now that I know I will never meet someone in the world and nothing interesting has ever happened, I am not doing anything in the open world. My server was killed by Blizzard’s unrestricted free transfer away. I have been waiting for a solution for more than a year, but nothing has come. Because of that, I have already canceled my subscription. When it expires, I will be done with this. I hope I will kill Arthas at least once before quitting. I would maybe continue from time to time, although I hate cata. But not on the monofaction server. One ruined expansion was enough. Never again on the monofaction server. Never.

Personally i was waiting for wotlk since classic launch… I saw bad signs in TBC, but i hoped wotlk would be good. After the launch i cleard naxxramas couple times, and got 4200+ pve/pve gear, both ret and holy on my pal… Then i left, because i cannot enjoy the game if the whole world is dead.
If they hadn’t messed it all up, then I would have gladly played with it, but I have principles, if I pay for something I am not willing to compromise, and accept things like complete lack of world pvp, because its not a small thing in my view.
So I couldn’t bring myself to play with it, i skipped ulduar completly, one of my favorite raids…
So all in all a big thank you to blizzard, for completely ruining my favorite expansion for which I have been waiting for years…
My last hope is that after wotlk classic is over and all of those log master pve noobs going to cata we will get some ‘‘WOTLK ERA’’ realms with clusters like classic era now, and there will be some healty population.
If it doesn’t happen, I’ll go to the private server, which we don’t name, but many people know it and play it.

After a whole expansion without even a little effort to solve this, I doubt they will do anything in the future. Wotlk ERA can save you. Until they do a free faction change event and everyone will be the same faction hehe, But I think WOTLK ERA won’t happen anyway.

At this point they should just implement war mode and sharding like in retail… Your “server identity” does not matter anymore with megarealms, raidlogging and general playerbase behavior…

The sad thing is that it wouldn’t be difficult to solve this, but they don’t care at all.

I agree…I have just resubbed. I am now legitimately considering just cancelling the sub. If I wanted pve Id play a pve server

I play on retail, but if i want wotlk, i’d rather go to a private server with world pvp,
Which is ridiculous that I prefer to play on a private server while the game time is passes here. When im counting the pros and cons sadly that private server is the winner for me.

You are mistaken, server identity matters to some of us (who stayed on lower pop realms which are actually balanced and didn’t jump the “this realm is dead, quickly transfer to faction megarealm”-hype-wagon. Don’t touch our good realms with balanced sides and almost no GDKP.

People transferred because they wanted to be on the biggest realm so the amount of guilds/groups/pugs/arena partners will be at maximum. If that was a 50/50 that’s where people would go. Another ridiculous post.

Ok? People really don’t care about the existence of another faction.
Firemaw was the biggest realm for a few phases in TBC and it was 50/50, As soon as transfers were opened to the horde-only realm every zugzug went to it.

Wait which eng wrath pvp realm is faction balanced? Thats news for me
