i hear you. This is the M+ eras fault, Everything is down to rushing and Tanks are in that mode unfortunately and it becomes even more crap in a couple of weeks when M+ opens. Realy miss the days where tanks had to pull 2-3 mobs and actually position and be a bit carefull, as that was the norm. Now Blizz have made Dungeons in to a competitive streamer s**t show with timers and it is the most toxic thing they have in the game.
This hasn’t really been a thing. Only people being bad at mitigating and facetanking mobs without using defensives.
The whole idea of M+ is to keep dungeons relevant by scaling it up exactly to NOT being able to run them anymore like that. It is just there to keep everything challenging and fun. it is far from a speedmode.
Which is what you get on higher keys. Which is awesome since someone with low ilvl has a challenge and someone with a high ilvl has one too.
Yes.
It is why I don’t even consider buying an expansion anymore.
Even in WLK people are gigarush now.
It happens when content is too easy and people have too much gear.
But this is what people want. And when you leave, they say good riddance.
Newbie tanks have the same experience. People go ahead because they can.
Everybody is stressing out about the bestest XP per hour, gold per hour, etc.
It’s become an efficient farming ARPG.
I recently just returned to the game and holy h. are the tanks bad. It’s just a massive rush fest with no concern for the grp what so ever, not only that they seem to have an insane amount of tunnelvision with no idea of what’s going on around them.
Kinda making me want to tank again.
Ive noticed that around the time when a new expansion launches or when theres a buff going on, these dungeon spam ppl come online and want to do everything fast fast fast. Lots of tanks get angry and dps is very impatient.
Many times i end up running after them and cleaning up their mess which makes me use way more mana than necessary and makes it almost impossible to heal with anything else than a holy priest (which im most comfortable with) and no room to even try to learn how to heal with different class.
With other classes ive even experienced ppl running away out of the aoe heals i put on the ground and then they get angry they die.
Im really missing the whole communication between everyone and also the room for education for new players. Everyone gets angry so fast and just kick ppl out or leave while that isnt necessary at all lots of times in my opinion.
Well said. This community needs to chill. I say we make an in-game community with chill players. We need each other.
This is also my experience. I enter, say hi and most of the party is already off to pull things and rush ahead. I catch up, maybe say a line of banter in the dungeon, no replies. Final boss drops, party vanishes into the nether, I am left alone.
I feel very, very lonely in this game…
In single player games, the NPC’s at least stop to talk to you.
How about finding guild and do dungeons with guildies while speaking on discord ? Like people who enjoy social interactions do
A few weeks in it’ll be so much better. Everyone’s now just rushing for the worthless heroic/mythic 0 gear that they’ll replace in wednesday.(Why are you doing this to yourselves D:) Once the season starts it’ll be so much more chill.
Though I did have quite some pleasant experiences. People complimenting me and others for our peformance, helping each other figure mechanics out, you name it. Also I did some battlegrounds and it was honestly not as bad as before, people weren’t raging, in most battlegrounds we even had people call stuff out and work together like never before. If anything it was great ![]()
Also random social interactions will never be as you remember them from the old game unless you seek them. I’m constantly chatting people up, trying to group up, trying to maybe help finish off a mob they’re fighting, do an elite with them, you name it. And honestly that also ends up in me constantly getting friend requests in bnet from people we had fun with doing any of the above
At the same time let me add a negative experience of my own too: I was doing my first run of the dungeon with dragonriding to help a friend. (Nokhud Offensive? Was that the name?) Everything went great until while flying to the last boss i found out the hard way that you get dismounted(and demon hunter wings count as dragonflying there, kill me LOL) from your dragonflying mount and are meant to reach it ‘‘normally’’ … Well, I was the tank, by the time I made it there they had pulled EVERYTHING(to explain, there are enemies that if you don’t interrupt them fear the whole party and others that stun a single person), now imagine at least 3 or 4 packs with enemies of their sort. It took the mobs about a minute of permanent fears and stuns to kill me and watching that was just painful :’)
I feel this. My first dungeon was also Ruby Life Pools and it was a complete cluster*** of a run.
We zoned in, Druid tank immediately lurches forward and pulls everything up to the miniboss right before the first boss, what happened during that time I couldn’t even describe it was such a mess.
We get to the top of the dungeon, and the tank does a lap around the entire upper floor pulling everything, including the fire elementals that channel a pulsing AoE to the entire party AND they explode on death (no the dps did not move out of the big red ring they leave behind.)
After catching a minor glimpse of my Guardian tanks rear as he descends down the stairs where the final boss dwells, i’m sipping on my mana drinks practically forcing it down my characters throat ASAP just to get above 20% mana.
We die to the trash down the stairs because no one interrupted anything at all, resulting in a one shot AoE which killed everyone but the tank.
The last boss was a walk in the park in comparison to all of that.
Almost all of my first runs of the new dungeons have been like this, don’t even get me started with the Azure Vaults dungeon, where an NPC specifically tells you not to disturb the whelps, otherwise an entire room of powerful trash descends upon you.
Most tank classes are waaay OP atm compared to the content. I think this is the reason this has happened. And I agree, it kinda sucks.
you are good writer, blizzard should hire you for remaking quest texts atm its so stale and boring uf
the solution to this is remove m+ penalty from out of time, same loot, same m+ rating, no key degradation
Well, I have following proposition. Make custom dungeon run groups. You can fiilter then people out. And in case of those Demon Hunters, you can also go full bias (it’s your group after all) and don’t invite ANY DH in your groups.
I also recommend others being annoyed by such behavior to rather make custom dungeon groups, so you can filter out the bad people. It might take longer to get going, but the experience is it always worth it ![]()
I leveled this priest at the end of Shadowlands. The leveling dungs, the heroics and low keys could be a real pain as players just didnt care.
When I got to 15-20 keys it was much easier, as the groups played way more controlled. No kick? Dead. Standing in swirlies on the ground? Dead. Not moving away from the frontal? Dead.
It was in the +18 keys people started saying sorry to me when they died, as they knew they fked up
Does this mean you will be pvp-ing in DF?
Tanks do massive pulls in the dungeons because they can, and there’s nothing to really stop them doing it. The dungeons from normal through to mythic 0 feel very undertuned.
The dungeons are so incredibly easy you can have a barely-geared-to-queue tank in a HC pull 3-4 packs and still get bored as a healer. Yes there are 1-2 packs or mobs in some of the dungeons that do a fair bit of damage but most of the time everything dies so fast you don’t even notice it.
Tanks are practically immortal in this level of content atm so why wouldn’t they pull more? I mean I don’t think i’ve seen a single warrior tank go below 100% HP yet in this expansion.
Points for the attempted humor.
My experiences have been mixed lately, though, and usually not too insane, just normal insane, hah.
The ‘highlight’ was an event Ulduar where the tank collected all mobs before first boss, died, wiped the group, and then left on his own! And because the game is bugged in so many ways, there was no group refill from queue, so we ended up with me bear-tanking sub-optimally (by my standards, so I’d say I was pretty good) in a four-player group, after having waited five minutes for a new tank that never came.
That run went really relaxed, though.
The worst is when players of any role come into Timewalking not understanding that item level is normalized in them. - Especially guaranteed disaster if it’s Cata TW.
