My Feedback for Feral Shadowlands/Dragonflight

I think (hope?) if you choose legendary and conduits accordingly, you might be able to get pretty hard hitting bleeds.

yeah i still think we need passive buff on bleeds and some good utility in return since we lost our only utility cause they made it baseline for all specs aka stampeding roar

Agreed, if Balance/Resto get Stampeding Roar, Feral (and Guardian, though they need way more) should get Innervate and Treants.

yup and we should get Natureā€™s Swiftness which made our cyclone instant cast also it can affect battle rez and this ability is 2 min on cooldown so you cant spam instant battle rez or instant clones over and over

Give us Spec unique utility and bleed buff blizzard!

Or at least narrow the gap in utility compared to Balance/Resto by giving us Innervate and Tranq

As far as bleeds go, Iā€™d like a change to Sabertooth so that instead of extending Rip duration, it gives a substantial buff to bleeds during execute or something along those lines. Or like MM Hunterā€™s Careful Aim: bleeds deal 20% more damage on targets above 80% health and below 20% health or so.

i agree with that

Maybe our big 3min CD should be something worth using. Berserker is a joke at the current state.

I think feral will be worsted then BFA.
I really want feral to be revered back to what it was in wod or at least legion.in wod you ca kill someone with just your bleeds ,now they do no dmg at all

and in MoP aswell , our bleeds need to be stronger

So I managed to log into the PTR and did a very quick comparison of numbers to live. Basically, I took tooltip damage for different abilities and divided that damage by my health (24.8k in PTR vs. 527k in live). Note that these percentages are with around 40% mastery in both PTR and live.

Rip: 11.1% (PTR) vs 9.4% (Live) <-- this is likely the buff to rip.
Rake: 5.8% (PTR) vs 5.5% (Live)
Thrash: 1.2% (PTR) vs 1.3% (Live)
Shred: 1.7% (PTR) vs 1.6% (Live)
Swipe: 1.3% (PTR) vs 1.0% (Live)
Moonfire: 1.2% (PTR) vs 1.3% (Live)
Regrowth: 10% (PTR) vs 8.5% (Live)

Now this is all very, very rough and preliminary but it looks like Rip might be slightly more powerful than now (it was buffed by 12.5%). I was positively surprised that Regrowth might heal a tad bit more.

/Add: I also checked out Feral Frenzy:

16.2% (PTR) vs 10.1% (Live)

So this one also got quite a bit stronger.

That still seems very minor to me, right? Thanks for pulling the numbers, I do really appreciate that.

I kinda put my mind to ease thinking if we dont bring any real utility we will bring damage and your numbers dont convince me quite. Still gotta be patient and see how itll pan out when SL goes live I guess

Well, on their own, yes. But keep in mind that (1) damage from essences goes away, (2) damage from corruptions goes away and (3) we will have more ways to buff bleeds in SL via legendaries, conduits and covenants. I doubt that bleeds will become the overwhelming way Ferals do damage but I think there is good reason to hope that they will play a bigger role than in live.

/Add: I checked actual tick damage on a target dummy (only now learned there is one in the Dreamgrove, yay!). Again as percentage of my own health. Both Rake and Rip were buffed by Tigerā€™s Fury but Rake on live was not buffed with BT.

Rake out of stealth: 3.2% / tick (PTR) vs 1.8% / tick (live)
Rake w/o stealth: 0.9% / tick (PTR) vs 0.9% / tick (live)
Rip (with BT buff): 1.2% / tick (PTR) vs 0.8% / tick (live)

So the stealth modifier makes Rake tick pretty hard. Without it, it is pretty much the same as on live, though you canā€™t buff it with BT any more. Rip does hit a bit harder, though.

Sweet, that actually sounds good and what a lot of ferals want. More bleed damage.

What about ferocious bite, did it stay like the same? High damage? If bleeds go up In damage and our bite stays about the same, we might actually pull some nice numbers (:

FB tooltip damage is basically the same: 5.3% on PTR vs 5.1% on Live.

I just realised that my azerite buffs are still proccing on the PTR. So the tooltip numbers are solid but the reported ticks might also be due to differences in what procced when. I only used non-crit values though.

i went on mop private server and my rip (on live) with 485 ilvl 5 combo rip does 56k over 24 sec on mop private server its 96k ā€¦ and comparing thrash and rake its same numbers . i want my bleeds to hit hard again .

Coincidentally, Iā€™ve been messing around on a Wrath private server doing the same thing hah! Like, my RIP is actually impacting my ability to kill mobs. Who would have thought?!

I assume this is prior to applying any bleed-boosting passives/abilities? Legendaries, Necro-swarm etc.

Bleed-focus might make a real comeback.
