I received a response from the game master again to my ticket.
They couldn’t check the logs because they didn’t keep them that far back in time.
For this reason, they state that I need to pay again
I am extremely annoyed by their non-solution focused approach. Whether they care or not, I gave up on returning to the game.
So this is what is best for me I think.

It could just be a character selection screen glitch. I get them fairly regularly when I know I logged out with specific gear on, and the character selection screen takes some time to “catch up”. And sometimes it will show correctly, but then a few days later, for a while, revert to a previous “look”.
You might want to actually log in with that character, if you haven’t already, to verify what is showing on the character selection screen is what is in-game.
The character’s gear is just as I left it. There is no problem in that part. But the race is completely different. It also writes as Tauren. That’s why i don’t think it’s a glitch.
If that was the case, i think the game master would give this information after he/she checked.

Update for those who came across this topic and read it:
My friend and I decided to start the game again. I was OK to open a new Troll Druid character. Yesterday we purchased The War Within expansion and 12 months of game time.
When I entered the game and hang around after many years, I realized that the Ashes of Al’ar mount of mine is missing. There is no trace of that mount in my account right now. Maybe what else disappeared from my account like this, but I’m not aware of it.
I don’t know what you’ve done to my account, but it’s obvious that you’ve really messed things up.
As far as I can see, there were many players experiencing this problem on the battle.net forums:
I got a refund for the expansion and the game time this morning.
I’m done with Blizzard.
